You can just click and drag individual file or folders to your cd or dvd and windows will burn (copy) them. What I normally do is I check the size of the items that I want to copy so I'll know exactly how many disks (cd or dvd) i will need. Have fun!

As from your question I can say that you are only using windows default copying service. First of all you must try copying the data using some third party softwares such as Ashampoo or Nero. You can try to burn a CD/DVD image with it or simply try to write data using these softwares. Dell has been suspected of having this problem in few cases, so DVD RW drive might also be faulty. Also, there is this microsoft page which can be useful: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=316529

Sound plays distorted but sound card is working .

Sounds like you need to check the connection to your sound system. Could be the jack is not in properly or there`s a short in the cable to your soudn system. Check the cable if necessary. You might also be overloading the input on your soudn sytem so try to reduce the volume of the computer and raise the volume on the sound system. If your cable is shorting or coming loose inside the jack you will have problems.

Caanot play CD-R/DVD-R burnt from PC

First check that in your user manual that the dvd player is JPEG compatible. When you say you are having the problem on other DVD's do you mean when you use DVD+R and DVD-R disks on your own player or that yu have tried to play the same DVD disk on other brand DVD players without success? You dont mention which software you are using to save your JPEG's to Disk or whether you can in fact view them on your PC. After making sure that your Windows media player displays your pictures ok, Try using the NERO dvd burning Rom programme to load your JPEG's. I am assuming that you are not trying to record a DVD in a CD burning drive? hope this helps - hattonhall
