It should be in the manual supplied with the car. If not call mercedes and give them your vin, reg private detail etc and if you get a nice person, problem will be solved. It happen to me, but not a merc that you gladly own. I'm n battery not sure about this advice but a merc uses a high voltage and you may need a new battery.
Could be a CD defect, but probably just dust inside. Try canned air, or connect IPOD after you convert CD's to MP3's or other player to AUX port as a connector as a work a around. Splicers available online if you already have a TV connected.
Sometimes when you jump off a truck the CD player fuse will blow because it was trying to turn on each time you turned over the engine. Check all the fuses.
Betty,
Disconnect the negative battery cable at the battery for 10 minutes. Reconnect the terminal and recheck CD player.
Let me know and we can go from there.
Regards,
Also have the same problem, never had to get my car jumped though. When i switch to cd it is stuck on "CD2", also most of the time the screen does not show up and i am not able to use any of the buttons except the analog turn knob and power/volume.
Buy A CD Lens Cleaner and put it in to the CD Player and keep retrying until the drive plays it and then follow the instructions for the CD Lens Cleaner after its finished try playing a CD if it still wont play try another disc and if it does not play that try reset the player by unplugging it for five seconds if it still wont play the CD drive has failed in the drive and you need a new stereo. Stereos dont last forever so dont be surprised if you need to buy a new one
Ok im not to familiar about this head unit but some have a little hole where you can use a paperclip to reset it.. if you cant see one Take the negative terminal off the battery and keep it for for a minute or so...this will reset your deck and hopefully the deck will see it has a cd in it.
Another thing you can try is to push a cd in like you normally would but when it starts to suck it pull it out and then it will think it loaded...that also worked for me in the past.
