Your unit doesnt have usb streaming feature (reason it doesnt have a usb jack). connection would have to go thru ilink (ieee1394) connection. that's the dv interface located left side at the bottom of the battery. it's a plug-and-play connection.so basically you need an ieee1394 card installed in your computer to support connection (refer to computer manufacturer), an ieee1394 cable compatible for both your computer and camcorder (uses 4 pin cable), and a video capturing software like moviemaker (for windows) and imovie (for mac).if you have that then your good to go. hope this helps. thanks:)

I'm not able to view and transfer my video films on the computer

How are you trying to make them communicate, are you using a USB?
If so make sure you select the proper action when your PC prompts you. Transferring and playing are two distinct things, that is to say, sometimes you may be able to transfer a file to something but, that file may not play due to compatibility.

When i try to advance my ae-1 camera it takes a picture! how do i fix it

The magnets that control the shutter are the likely suspect. Dirt and debris can cause them not to hold properly. Hence, it fires the shutter when you advance the film. It is something you can repair yourself. ............or.
you can also try....

i'm not an expert on the AE-1. It is a camera I've never had any desire to own. But on most older slr camera the rewind knob will turn when the film is advanced. But only after the slack has been taken out of the film still in the canister. Since you've already taken a few shot the film shot be very secure on the take up spool. To check that it is, slowly crank the film rewind crank clockwise. After a few turns the film should become tight in the canister, and you will feel the tension. If this happens then the film was loaded properly. If after quite a few turns you still feel nothing, then the film was not properly inserted into the take up spoll. If the film was not loaded correctly the film leader will go inside the canister as you crank. But that is not a problem. Any photo lab can pull the leader back out. Just make sure they know what happened.

Thanks.

Filming transfer

Several steps are involved. You will need a firewire or USB cord to connect your camera to your computer. You will need a video capture application on your PC. Macs come with this program, I-Movie. Once captured, the movies can be edited. Your PC will need a combination drive to burn a DVD from the captured material. An easier way: Take your camera output and feed it directly into a DVD recorder. No editing, but it is a one-step process. I use both methods.

Still Pictures

the still pictures are actually single frame MPEG movies with 7 seconds of audio. You should capture them the same way you get movies off the tape into the PC and just capture the frame.

Sony Handycam DCR-TRV460E PAL

I don't know about the PAL version, but the NTSC version does. It automatically detects the type of tape and adjusts.
