At 53% your cpu is working too hard. Turn off unecessary startup programs. You can do this through msconfig.Turn off the "C" drives indexing. Check for conflicts in device manager. Make sure that you have the correct and updated sound driver for your audio card.

My computer (Lenovo Y 450, notebook with MS Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit, Intel Core 2 Duo CPU P7350 @ 2.0 GHz, 2.0GB RAM, NIVIDA GeForce GT 240M) suddenly freezes in the middle of usage. The only thing I...

Hello

This sound to me like an overheating problem, you will need to have a look at the fans regulating the motherboard and cpu cooling.

If there is no dust particles or obstructions on the fans itself, you need to have a look if the fans even spins up.

If you do not fix this problem, it might result in your motherboard blowing.

Hope this can steer you in the right direction.

Kind regards

My Dell, recently got into a problem like it shuts down itself, only when i watch online movies. I started watching online movies eight months back but did'nt have this problem till last week. Its a Dell...

Without knowing anymore specifics, I'd guess to say that's its a heat related issue. Especially since it's summertime now and you're on a laptop. Note that when viewing online movies, especially if you choose hi-def over std-def, your laptop will use much more horsepower and thus create more heat than if you were just cruising the internet or working on an Office application. And when viewing a movie, you're doing this consistently for an extended amount of time. Eventually, your computer reaches a temp(usually specified in your computer's Bios) where it will either shutdown or restart in order to cool-off.

To verify and understand this, please perform the following steps:
1) Close any open programs, especially any internet browsers, and make sure your antivirus isn't performing a full scan.
2) Right-click on the taskbar (or hit Ctrl-Alt-Delete) and select 'Task Manager'
3) Now click on the 'Performance' tab.
4) Take note of how much 'CPU Usage' you're using. For example, I'm on a laptop, at idle, and it says 3% CPU Usage.
5) Now, open up your browser and go to where you watch online movies but don't start any videos yet.
6) Take note of the 'CPU Usage' now. Currently, I'm on Hulu and on average I'm at 8% CPU usage.
7) Now, start watching your online movie and take note of the 'CPU Usage'. For me, it jumps between 40-50% on std definition and 50-60% on hi-def.

So what's the solution if it's heat related, well for a laptop your best bet is to buy a laptop cooler (look for reviews online). I recommend any retail store or buying online from NewEgg, Amazon, or Buy.com. Also make sure any vents from the laptop aren't obstructed.

Now to keep a better eye on your laptop's temperature, I recommend the following 100% free, no spyware, no viruses, no adware programs:
(Note: after you install one of these, you may want to repeat the steps above and take note of the temps during each step)

HWMonitor

Real Temp

Core Temp

CS Fire Monitor (CPU Usage tray display, etc)

Good luck!

CPU Usage jumps to 100% and down to 2% when I change websites

I'd say it has NOTHING to do with how or when you access Yahoo. In fact, anytime you see an extreme jump in CPU usage like yours....you have to consider that you may very well have a TROJAN VIRUS that's hogging up all your memory (among other things viruses do). If you don't have a good anti-virus program, then get one fast. Update all virus definitions, then.......RUN a FULL scan on your pc or laptop! Watch what you find.

Have you inatalled the latest service pack before you upgraded to IE7?
If not, suggest you un-install IE7, install the service pack, reboot computer and then upgrade to IE7.
If IE7 causes you problems the revert back to IE6.

Few questions about RAM memory?

Solution:

i)  LOW DENSITY modules have 100% compatiility with ALL systems and ALL chipsets.
HIGH DENSITY modules only have 10% compatibility

here compatablity means LOW DENSITY RAM are accepted by all system(100%)  or any make           system.. HIGH DENSITY RAM are accepted by 10% by only some system or computers...

ii) in order to check system performance or amount of Computer RAM usage press the ctrl+alt+del
simultaneously a new window(window task manager) will appear showing:

CPU usage: showing the amount of CPU or processor utilized at that particular time.
PF usage: showing the amount of RAM memory utilized at that particular time.
Physical Memory: showing Total RAM Memory, Available Ram memory....

iii) baiscally they are two types of RAM they are:

DDR1:which is older one supported by older system  or older mother boards which is costlier
DDR2: which is latest one supported by all new system or new mother boards which is less                         costlier

DDR: double data rated ram......which will send data at a double rate compared to SD RAM

iii) here color doesnt matter, these slots either support DDR1 or DDR2 but not both at a time

DDR1 has 184 pins or gold plated pinssss... on the edge of the RAM
    DDR2 has 240 pins

so difference doesnot allow DDR2 to placed in DDR1 motherboards or vice versa...

iv) it does have anything to do with no of chips on the RAM but they only differ whether it is DDR1 OR DDR 2(DDR2 are much faster than DDR1)

NOTE: whatever may the the RAM, each RAM has FSB(called Frequency...) which determines the frequency of rate at which data is tranferred from RAM to processor(CPU)  usually in MHZ such as FSB 300, 400, 200 , 333...................

more the FSB the faster data is transferred to the processor(CPU)

dont worry even RAM with less FSB's work well with the processor....having 1 GB RAM or 2 GB RAM is engouh, it only matters with the speed of CPU ... but not RAM......
