I can tell you that one from JVC will cost as much as a new camcorder.For a cheap replacement your best bet is someplace like ebay. People usually part out stuff or you might find a complete 'dead' jvc there. You can also google online shops that do repairs they should have these as well.

Farily easy diy repair just pricey part.

If you are asking about software for transferring your tape to your computer, your computer should recognize when your camcorder is plugged into it and it will install the appropriate driver.

Does the JVC Digital Video Camera GR-D347U have an external mic port?

Hi, The GR-D347U doesn't have microphone jack, it only has Audio/Video output connector and Digital Video Connector[DV in/out]. If you are familiar with the non-linear editing I'd like to recommend to use the digital recorder like mp3, ipod etc, then you can mix that on the video with the clear audio from your subject.

There are 2 possibilities for that symptoms in JVC GR-D347U camcorder is either aparture in lens mechanism is stuck and does not pass image towards CCD Imager OR ccd imager itself got bad.
Qualified camera tech can fix it because it requires expertise.
If you want to fix it, download service manual from HERE for small fee, that will help you how to disassemble/ apart camera and part info etc.

How old is the camcoder?

Is it digital?

You may need a video capture card installed on your computer to transfer video to your system.

Check ebay for a "dazzle" box.....
