My HTC Hero GPS reception or processing is slow and not accurate 80% of the time. Google Map & Sprint Navigation all initally grab the cell network and phone position is then refined by GPS to a loaction 40-200 miles away. Only about 20% of my attempts to run these GPS application does the Hero get the phones position correct. Yes, the phone always has a clear view of the sky. Is this a HTC Hero / Sprint issue? It appears to me as a GPS reception problem or software processing of the GPS signal problem. What's Up? My GPS apps are nearly useless.
Try downloading GPS Essentials (free) from the market. It has a tab that shows how many satellites the phone is picking up. that usually is what determines the gps accuracy. also remember that the antenna is at the bottom of the phone. right where your hand holds it. This should not affect it but is good to know.

well, this is obviously not an Android handset. however I have a TP2 on Sprint and run Android as well and I get data and wifi.
I would suggest going back to the forums where the developers are working on this stuff (ie: ppcgeeks dot com, etc) and grab a newer copy.
your inquiry is obviously not supported but it does work (with GPS too). There's still no main speaker nor camera, etc but I can totally get/ use data, google maps (sucks without sound but whatever).
you likely know you can also update your OS to WM6.5 and the new Bing has navigation integrated and it's actually pretty good
Your Speaker is burnt out just found that out with mine today. Took it to Sprint store Tech & they replaced it with a brand new speaker free of chg because I have insurance otherwise you'll be charged about $40
