HI there if you clean the internal system then i suggest you remove the ram & cooling fan & fix it back properly. Another thing is watch the keypad and try to found is there any key pressed or not. I hope you will found the error & solve the problem. Thanks.

Check system then press f1 key

Try this:

Instructions
    • 1

Insert the Toshiba A60 recovery disc into the CD/DVD-ROM drive.

    • 2

Power off the Toshiba (with the recovery disc still loaded inside the optical drive).

    • 3 Hold down the "F12" key, at the same time hit the "Power" button to turn the system back on. You don't have to hold down the Power button, but keep holding the F12 key.
    • 4

Release the "F12" key when the" In Touch with Tomorrow TOSHIBA" screen is displayed. This will open up the BIOS.

    • 5

Change the boot order by using the arrow keys to select "CD/DVD ROM" icon in the menu. The Toshiba will now boot from the recovery disc and restore the system. Follow any additional on-screen instructions.

My Toshiba Satellite becomes very hot when I use Skype and I hear that cooler works very hard and then at last computer just turn off.. and then I need to wait awile to wurn it on again... what to do?

Did you try to clean the FAN of the processor? Try to clean it because the dust is blocking the airpath that`s why you laptop is overheating and shutting down.

Toshiba a60-155. keep getting press f1 setup screen. have to enter date. keys 1 and 2 don't seem to work. can I bypass this page

Don't think you can bypass this thing because the RTC (Real Time Clock) battery is, most likely, dead. But if you can replace the just the keyboard, then you'll still have a working computer. I'd leave the RTC battery alone and use software (such as Atomic Clock Sync) to set the date and time automatically every time the computer boots into Windows.

Nothing on powerup.

Open it up again and find the wire you blew off.

It crashed and now it automatically shutdown after a minute about

The fan may be cluttered with dust. Clean it. Then turn the unit on and watch to see if the fan does indeeed work. If it does not, shut the unit down till you get a replacement fan. The fact that the unit shuts down is a saftey feature to keep your Proceesor from being damaged.
If cleaning it works, your processor should be ok.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Toshiba satellite A60 no boot

We can only assume that because the cd drive operates then the motherboard is operating in part, although, the southbridge chip may be damaged, as the northbridge works memory etc. Maybe it is that the processor is fried as there is no fan and the system then shuts down. Toshiba are probably half way there with the answer, unless; they investigated further and decided it was not the processor but the motherboard.
