Sound just quit, only using two fronts, center and subwoofer. Not playing loudly when they all quit, but they did quit on a hf transient peak. I suspect a fuse, tried turning off, even unplugging for ten minutes, green light comes on, but no sounc. Checked all connections, no problems found. Where is the fuse? (from reading the bb there seems to be one.) Been using this set for over three years, first problem, and have played it much louder that tonight. X-530

I have the following setup: AV Receiver: Pioneer

Very common problem with today's receivers. Receivers made today don't have a true preamp section in the amplifier and do not amplify the sound to the extent of an older receiver. I have large 15" front speakers on my system, and have stuck with my 15 year old receiver just because I know that a new receiver will not have the power to drive them well. Many of the newer receivers need to be turned up to 50-60% before you can even hear anything from the speakers.

No sound from subwoofer, i have a JBL subwoofer the side or small speakers will play but the woofer will not i ran a sound check and it was stated that all speakers was working fine. could it be that my...

Are you using the Creative speaker test program? It usually has a picture of a generic layout of a pc system, with the speakers around it, showing a speaker for each that you should have plugged in. There should be a test button that will play a sound through each speaker. If a sound plays from your center speaker when the subwoofer picture is lit up then you may have a cord plugged in incorrectly on either the subwoofer or on the back of the soundcard. I've ran into this many times.
The best way to set up surround sound is to get your speakers placed or mounted on the wall, then run one wire at a time into the subwoofer, to ensure that the front left is hooked into the subwoofer in the front left, front right into front right, etc. Then once the speakers are hooked into the subwoofer start running the outputs from the subwooofer one at a time into the sound card. After each connection run the test program and watch the pictures light up as the sound plays, and make sure that the speaker playing sound in your place is the same speaker that is lit up on the test program.
I hope that helps, otherwise the amp is probably bad. Let me know if you need more help.

My rear and center speakers suddenly quit working. No sound

try a different source. if there is output on all speakers in test mode, then the amps are good but the source or source switching may have a problem.

DVD plays partial sound

Check your speaker connections it sounds like you have a 5.1 or higher sound system. 5.1 means left front speaker, right front speaker, center speaker, right rear speaker, left rear speaker and subwoofer.

Voices in movies all get channeled to the center speaker (you can usually hear it a bit from the right and left front speakers as well). If your center speaker is disconnected or not working, you will only hear the background sounds.

Only subwoofer works at high volumes

It could be your receiver but you can try seeing if the Woofer has a input knob at the back, maybe this down, or maybe.if possible turn down the amount going to the woofer with your receiver.
