The clunking noise you hear , is probably when the compressor shuts off , due to temp reached or when it goes into defrost . An internal motor mount spring , inside the compressor , is broken ( rusted and broke ) . The refrig can go on working for years , without any problem , except noisey , when it cuts off . To stop the noise , replaceing the compressor is the only option . I have heard of placeing objects under 1 leg of the compressor , to " re-adjust " the ballance , but thru my experience , another spring broke , causing more knocking .

Compressor is making very loud clunk when shutting off.

I think the wire was kinda expensive. If I were you I would try to save the fridge. I think you should unplug it for a couple hours, take everything out for a while and remove any ice. Once the fridge reached room temp, the refrigerant should have made its way back to the compressor. Plug it back in and see if it makes the noise again.
It might just be the fan in the freezer. I would try the unplug/deice for a few hour method first because it is free before you try to replace a fan that might be bumping ice. Good luck!

Refrigerator runs a lot and turns off with a clunk.

This could be possibly the condenser is clogged up with dust and needs to be cleaned. If it runs too hot, the head pressure is higher and will cause the compressor to stop suddenly making the "clunk" you hear. This will also make it run longer.

After the compressor runs it makes a loud clunking sound when it stops running. The sound comes from the compressor.

My guess is that it is running on high head probably caused by a dirty condenser. Try cleaning that. The noise itself is the actual compressor and motor bouncing around inside the hermetic can (what you call the compressor).
Good Luck

My Kenmore refrigerator is making a loud noise when running and when it shuts off it makes a loud clunking noise. Also, it is running about every 10 minutes. The refrigerator is 7 years old.

it sounds like the compressor insides are loose and you will be needing a new compressor, but just check and make sure the rubber mounting feet on the outer compressor base where its mounted to the refrigerator base are all tight and the rubber shocks are all good

Kenmore top freezer fridge does not cool but freezer works

Turned refrigerator off for 8 hours, let the frost melt and the fan in the freezer worked again. The compressor now only has a soft clunk when it goes off.

Foul odor coming from freezer. Kenmore model w/ freezer on top.

Clean the refrigerator thoroughly fresh food and freezer under all drawers. Then place charcoal briquettes in each 8 or 10 total. 4 or 5 in the bottom of the fresh food section. leave the for several days. If that doesnt take away the smell consider if a mouse may have gotten into a fan blade and well that can create a really bad smell.

Increased drying time; removal of lint behind tumbler ???

I have a top loading Kenmore High capacity dryer that is over 10 years old, it has been working very well, unfortunately when cleaning the lint filter my wife dropped a piece of paper down the lint duct hole. The paper evidently fell to the bottom of the lint duct. I am unable to reach the paper from the top of the dryer where the lint filter is inserted. The dryer now makes a grinding type noise when it is turned on. Can you tell me how to reach the paper and remove it
