My toshiba m35x-s149 does not have a hard drive but has the little thing with the holes in it how do you install one?

Yes you certainly can swap out the combo drive for DVD/RW. Just make sure you purchase one that is similar to yours and remember to keep the front face of yours just in case you need it.

Can't. You need to buy a new Hard drive and resinstall windows and all your applications. Even if this is your laptop and you forgot the password.

The password is a theft deterrent.

It is located on the mother board, under the keyboard.... It is the size of a quarter.... and may be soldered in on your Satellite M35x series machine.

Are you replacing it? Find the part at Toshiba/support - search your model and check the specs.
