The communication can only be complete when the IP Address is fully established. This is in the manual and information on doing a set up is detailed by Minolta. Only you or a technical person with privileges who you invite into your computer can resolve that issue.
Utility / Administrator settings (pass:12345678) / Network settings / TCP/IP settings. Select auto IP, or enter it manually. You can check IP address by printing Configuration Page: Utility / User Settings / Printer setting / Print Report / Configuration Page. Press start. Good luck!
This are the the information you need to setup scan to email and maybe you know how to access the web browser to setup the network. first you need to know the smtp host name or ip address, second you must create a valid email address for the copier. To access the web browser input the ip addrress and press enter click administrator and the password is 12345678 or 8 zeros. there are tab system info print, scan and network. click the the scan tab. choose scan to email first thing you will see enable scan to email smtp ip address or host name. enter the right smtp. witch this you can get to your mail server. do not change the port # and that is 25. Input administrator email address and the machine email address and turn on the authentication enter your user id and a password iof there is any.
You are getting a failure sheet. This happens when the scan doesnt go through. I think you are reffering to SMB scanning, which needs to have the following setup on both the MFP and the copier.
Host ID or NAME - IP address or hostname with DNS resolution.
Share Name - This is your SMB share name or folder share name on the remote PC
User Name - This is an account that is configured on the remote PC
Password - This is the password for the account setup on the remote PC.
Some things to keep in mind: Third party firewalls can block the bizhub from writing files.
Set share permissions to full control. (under sharing tab> permissions buttion)
Set NTFS permissions to at least write access. (if you have a "security" tab on the shared folder.
Or, you may see something like "allow network users to change my files" on the sharing tab. This basically does the same under different configuration scenario.
One last thing. If you havent changed anything since the problem started, it is probably just something like an expired password on the account that is setup for the copier.
Easiest way is to change to SMB scanning which will give you direct scanning to PC or server. Create a new address in the machines address tab in the browser add the (must be a fixed) ip address of the machine it is going to with the folder name, user name and password and it will work a treat.
After pressing "scan," press "Direct Input," then "Scan to E-mail." That will come up with a digital keyboard with which you can enter the e-mail. You'll have to type out the whole address, as on my printer (even though I have the manual) I can't seem to find out how to save it so you don't have to type it in every time...
However, after inputting the e-mail address, press "Start" and it should scan to the e-mail.
Is there network card is installed in it, if yes then you can configure it with your network go to machine Manu in machine control panel and the in network settings here you can give the IP address and subnet mask after then reboot the machine.
If network card is no installed behind the machine then you can use its built-in USB or and parallel printer without NIC card.
with scan to Email on this machine you need a mail server that is local
with ftp scanning you need IIS running on either XP Pro or server OS
SMB Scanning can be done but only if you are using an eithernet connection
which one of these do you want do to do
you'll need to get that from their website tech support if you don't already have it.
