Yamaha YSP-1000 Main / Stereo Speaker Logo

My YSP 1000 no longer powers on, this problem started gradually. At first I could only power it up (after having put it on standby) by removing the powercord, put it back in and then pressing standby button. Now this doesnt work either. I removed the backplate and checked the fuse and its not blown.

Your capacitor on the powerboard (c515) is defect. The capacitor is a 220 nano Farad, 630 Volt
MEF Red cap.
change it and it will be like new again ;)

C515 ON THE MAIN POWER PCB (HAS 223 K 630HI PRINTED ON IT) HAS FAILED

    Replace with a 22nf capacitor - Maplin was part number N38CN (Not a 220nf !!)

the new maplin part has a higher voltage rating and is bigger. it will need to be fitted with the leads extended with wire to get it to fit.

I get a loud static noise, when I first turn on the yamaha ysp-1. Lasts a few seconds. Have unplugged all inputs. Problem persists.

u have a cool sound projector but u have a baaaad power supply system. bad power supply design - u will get all sorts of noise when u power it up. i have a sub woofer with the same problem(which in my case is the way it is designed). i used a delay circuit. but in ur case i know YSP-1 has a clean start up. so, if the warranty still covers it get it replaced. static noises, pop noises are often caused by bad capacitors.

Unit works fine. However when it is switched to standby for a few minutes or longer then powered up. Nothing happens. Cannot hear the click of something, i assume a relay inside the unit. If the unit is...

I got same issue. Solution is to buy a efergy standby eliminator plug so it can respond to the On/Off signal by cutting off and restoring mains power

Ysp-1100 clicks when power is pressed but does not turn on.

Sounds like a a pcb dry joint or a poor connection on a multiway plug / socket.

try removing and refitting all the pcb plugs - better still spray carefully with WD40

Goog luck, Gaz

Connecting an iPod to Yamaha YSP-1000

The best way to get quality sound would be to go through the USB connection of the phone.

It will be hard and a bit costly to get a cable to link the Ipod and projector.

Easiet and economical way is to go to apple and purchase a cable for the jaudio jack at the top of the Ipod that will also have an audio jack connector for the projector

Acerpower 1000 - won't boot (or POST);

I had to start my acerpower 1000 four or five times. When it boots into windows, it lasts for about a minute, then shuts off.
When booting into safe mode, the PC will stay on forever. I would think a hardware problem would cause it to always shut off.
This is not a solution, but something I have observed about these machines.
