I have a craftsman model #968514 stapler. It jammed and I took it apart. The sprint that drives the staples was stretched and i replaced it. In the process the spring that returns the handle fell out and i cannot figure out where it goes. Anybody have a picture?

To disassemble a Swingline SpeedPro 45 stapler (Model S7042141), follow these steps:
Open the stapler and remove any staples that may be inside.
Locate the two small screws on the bottom of the stapler, near the front.
Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws. Be sure to keep them in a safe place.
Gently pry apart the two halves of the stapler. You may need to use a flathead screwdriver or other tool to help separate the pieces.
Once the stapler is open, you can access the internal components, including the spring, magazine, and stapling mechanism.
Note: It is important to exercise caution when disassembling any tool or device, as parts may be under tension or spring-loaded. If you are unsure how to proceed, consult the manufacturer's instructions or seek the assistance of a professional.
thats the picture of the manual staple gun
and the picture of type of staples you want
on the staple box confirms you can use the staples in that
sears craftsman
note the staple has inches and metric dimensions
all you need to check is the stapler eject system is not worn out
or cause a jam as you try to staple
if sticky .. try some sewing machine oil on the stapler workings
Turn the stapler upside down and shake it to see if you can remove any of the staples. Attempt to open the top part of the stapler. If you can, remove the existing staples from the magazine. Then, unravel one end of a paperclip and attempt to remove the jammed staple from the head of the stapler.

Mine stopped working last night. I took it apart and was able to reassemble it properly. When both sides are rejoined the tip of the spring has to be inserted in the hole on the corresponding side (note red arrows on both pics)
Taking the stapler apart is a complex task if you can figure how to do that.To dismantle the stapler, slide back the top, remove two small screws on both sides, six on the bottom, four of the screws are under the sticker so you must peel off the sticker, you must also remove the sticker on top. There two tiny shinny screws at the bottom once you are inside. Now you have access to more screws you can take off to get to the staples place where the jam is. Watch cables where they are plugged to in case they come off. If you are are a mechanical technician or technically inclined you might be able to fix this yourself but you must be very patient.
Found user manual online but no parts breakdown, I have a phone number at 1-800-343-9329 and they might be to email you the breakdown. Wish I had better info but this is all they furnish online.
If not the power source or cord, the next activation point would be the trigger. Does the stapler make any sort of noise when the trigger is depressed? What type and model stapler is it?
