Sound but no picture. Not progressive scan issue I think.
We watched a DVD on the night before our vacation. Now, 3 weeks later, when we turn it on, we get sound but no picture. Not even the "DVD" blue welcome screen that shows up when you stop a DVD. Help??
Yes, I removed and replaced the cable on the player end, and tried using Video 1, 2, and 3 on the back of the TV. Tried a different cable too. Nothing. :(Yes, I removed and replaced the cable on the player end, and tried using Video 1, 2, and 3 on the back of the TV. Tried a different cable too. Nothing. :(

1) Remove any DVD that may be inside 2) Press AND Hold Stop Button (on front of Player) for 5 or more seconds 3) All Done - This will have reset player back to Interlaced Mode and you can now see your DVD!
My dear friend I think you maybe by mistake put the function progresive scan on the dvd check on the remote control for that function and try to deactivate.Good luck
to turn it off select connection method 3 above and progressive scanning mode, to set the mode, set progressive to off in the display menu so that the p scan indicator light on the front panel goes out. do all of this in interface mode. you can also do this by pressing and holding PLAY > on the front of the unit for more than 5 seconds, still watch for the p scan indicator to go off. this works best when the unit is connected directly to the television.
If you set progressive scant On by accident, you must reset the unit.
Remove any disc from the unit and close the disc tray. See that "disc" is displayed on the display window. Now press STOP and hold it for more than 5 seconds before releasing it. The video output will be restored to the standard setting and picture will once again be visible on a conventional analog TV or monitor.
