you can go to
www.sewing.about.com and check out Debbie's sewing machines 101 guide. She has images, diagrams and general threading up.
or your friend can purchase a manual from here
http://ifixmachines.com/vmchk/Janome-Model-352/Janome-352-Sewing-Machine-Manual/ilvm_fly1_blue.tpl.html
looking at this image I would say "raise the pressure foot, take the thread from the spool holder at rear of the machine and take to the left and through the first thread guide (cant see one but there will be) then down the right side of the metal flat thing, through the guide at the bottom, then back up the other side of the metal thing and through the take up lever (turn fly wheel until this is tat its highest point to get access) then back downwards, through the thread eye near lower edge of machine head, then down to the needle bar thread guide and through the needle.
The tension device will be in that top area where the metal piece is and the horizontal white dial on left will be tension control dial.
I hope this helps you and your friend out, 4 thumbs up if so :-)
I need to know how to thread the machine
