My dishwasher will not start and the "clean" light flashes. When I push the cancel button, it makes a humming sound like it's trying to drain. I try all the cycle buttons, but no go...Any ideas?

THE HUMMING NOISE THAT YOU ARE HEARING IS THE ELECTRONIC DRAIN MTR ACTIVATING BUT YOU HAVE NO WATER IN THE SYS. SO IT SOUND LOUDER AND DIFFERENT THE HUMMING IS THE LESS OF YOUR WORRIES THAT IS NORMAL BUT WHAT IS NOT NORMAL IS THE CLEAN LIGHT FLASHING IF IT FLASHES 7 TIMES THEN PAUSES YOU HAVEA BAD PROCESSING BOARD AND ALSO A HEATER ON SOME OF THE KM MODELS THE CONTROL BOARD AND HEATER IS SOLD AS A KIT. TO VERIFY THAT THIS IS THE CASE GO TO WWW.SEARSPARTS.COM . BUT FIRST ALSO CHECK TO SEE IF YOU HAVE A BURNT WIRE AT THE HEATER ASSEMBLY WHICH WOULD REQUIRE PULLING THE DW OUT. GOOD LUCK

I am having the same problem. Press start nothing happens, press cancel dishwasher makes a humming noise. Hope someone can help.
