Nothing sony is a good name but when it comes to car audio they have nothing but their name. I had a thump amp from the 80's that worked better than my sony xplod that had more power. If you want better quality try rockford fosgate, clarion or kenwood

Everything works fine but i cant get any sound out of my amp/subwoofer please help spent alot of cash on amp and sub and i want bass!!!

Check the fuse on the main power wire.

Make sure you have a remote turn on wire ran from the radio (blue/white wire).

Make your own ground for the amp using self taping screws....DO NOT USE SEAT BELT BOLTS

HI there, I'm installing the sony explode deck in my car to an amp, and then two speakers, I can't seem to get anything but bass....frustrated...

Its your settings on the amp. There is a noise filter to set it for bass or for high. Just move the switch. If it is set right turn the lph and vph the opposite way the it currently sits. That should fix your problem. If it doesn't check your stereo. If you have it ran through av cables to the back of the system it most likely has a bass filter built in. You have to get the high input wire clip and run it that way.

Poor sound

Sit low Bass @+3 / [email protected] 0 / Hi+10
Add SubWoofer with separate Amp and use low pass filter @78hz cuttoff.
It's a cheap unit -don't expect High Fidelity & a warm EQ<

It may be that the remote lead on the amp has been connected to the auto antenna lead on the radio instead of the amp remote lead and because the auto antenna goes down when the cd is inserted it is turning off you amplifier, check the connections behind the radio or if there is a light on the amp check if the light goes out when you insert a cd

Re: Stereo cutting out

try this: turn it off. spin the volume control back and forth, nearly full range of motion, very rapidly and for a long time (about 3 minutes). repeat for bass control. try stereo. any improvement? if so, what you just accomplished was to wipe the dust off the potentiometer's electrical contacts.

Amp goes to protect mode only on cd play

Do you get adequate bass on the radio, or is it a bit quiet on the low-end?
