Here is a list of things to check for:
1. Make sure the blender base (black plastic) is tight to the jar.
2. Make sure you have installed the rubber washer between the blender blade assembly and the jar.
3. Make sure your rubber washer is free from any crud that may have accumulated and dried on. You may have to soak the washer and gently scrub with a scrubber sponge. If it's really cruddy you may have to repeat as necessary.
4. Make sure you have not caught any water (or other liquid) when filling it between the base and the jar. When you pour out the contents it will appear as if it is leaking.

There is probably a hairline fracture or tiny crack in the blade assembly itself - replace the blade assembly - it will automatically come with a gasket, so you will have an extra.

Hi, it does happen from time to time but the chances are been as your buying a new part you should be ok, alot of people dont bother buying a new part and end up buying a new machine, most people never have a problem with it so the chances are the part that has broke may have had a flaw in it as this is not a very common fault, it does tend to happen more if people stick it in dishwasher to clean it or wash it in boiling water should it need washing so if it needs cleaning just use warm water and not hot as hot water causes the plastic to expand and shrink when it cools and this causes little fractures in the plastic then you get the problem your now having.
so to answer your question it shouldnt happen again you either had a part that had a flaw in it or you have washed it using water that is to hot and this has caused it to go brittle.
let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok
