Question about Kicker Solo-Baric L7 S12L7 Car Subwoofer
Hi, i own a 2009 mitsubishi colt and there is a problem with my car audio system. I have a jvc headunit (4x50w), with edge front and rear 13 cm component speakers (70w rms), i run a combined 10 inch edge subwoofer and amplifier in the boot.
My system sounds fine when i have the volume at 18 however this is far too quiet even for classic fm especially with road noise etc, Past 18 vol i hear a distortion like sound from the front left tweeter or possibly front left speaker, the speakers are new and ive just had them fitted. The wierd thing is when i select the right only channel via my head unit i can have the sound past 25 which is really loud, even for my liking. but when put back to normal (bass 0, treb 0, and channel set to centre or at 0) the distortion type sound appears again.
Any help would be much appreciated. thanks tom c
Sounds like you have the ground and live possibly the other way around from the head unit to the speakers. The reason for you hearing it from both the tweeter and the speaker is that the tweeter is connected in parallel to the speaker.
Swap the wiring and try it.
