Water builup in bottom of fridge

I have seen the answers but I can't resolve the problem. I have taken the freezer apart 3 times now. I can pour water into the freezer area and watch it come out the spout in the back. I take the trap off and pour water thru it in the sink. I take the downtube off and pour water thru it no problem. I connect the downtube and trap back up, pour water into the freezer and watch it buildup in the tray below like it is supposed to. All seems fine. I put it all back together knowing I have a smooth water flow from the freezer into the pan.

A few days later there is water back in the bottom of the fridge. What keeps causing this?

Have you checked to see if the appliance is tipped or sitting in a position so that water runs away from the drain instead of towards it?

If the problem is in the fridge 1: it could be moisture being drawn from unwrapped vegetables. 2: if you have a "wet wall" fridge check no food wrapping is touching the wet wall.

Amana freezer forms ice on the bottom. We have taken it apart, cleared ice from coils and drain, turned down freezer temp, but it still happens. Fridge works fine. Any other ideas?

When you see that ice forms on the bottom of your freezer it is most likely means that the drain hose of the fridge is blocked.
You will need to take the panel inside the freezer off, clear all the ice and pour hot water into the drain hole until you hear the water coming out at the beck where the compressor is located.
The next step would be running a 1/4" hose thru that hole.
Good luck.

How to remove back panel of GS2326CEDW/11 Admiral fridge freezer

If the water is showing on the freezer side, more than likely you have a clogged drain. This occurs when the machine goes into defrost and the melted ice somehow is prevented from draining and therefor refreezing and blocking the drain for the next defrost cycle. The best way to resolve this is to unplug the machine for atleast 24-48 hours to let all ice melt. Also note on the maytags these days they put a rubber piece called a duck bill on the bottom half of the drain which will also cause this over time. To access this piece you'll have to pull the machine from the wall and remove the lower panel and find the plastic drain and remove the duck bill

Water pools at bottom of freezer, freezes and water leaks out

Hello, this sounds like you have a blockage in the drain tube, remove bottom shelf from fridge and remove the styrofoam..you may see ice build up...melt ice with hair dryer/heat gun...you will see a pan below evaporator...melt ice in pan...dry water up in pan with paper towel...now you should see a hole in pan that leads to drain tube...pour some hot water in pan..wait a couple minutes..mop up water and repeat this step 2-3 times....once you have done this find some flexible curatain wire or electrical wire..poke down the hole until you see the water drain..now it is clear..put back panel back and you are good to go. The reason you see water in the Freezer is because the water has been leaking into the freezer instead of running into the drain hole...Please feel free to comment again if you need any further assistance. Ice collects in bottom of freezer

Heya Johnpc,
The best way to check the fan is to open the door and to push in the door switch wait about thirty seconds and you should be able to hear the fan run. If you cannot hear the fan the chances are you should call domestic refrigeration tech out.

Another thing that also makes water gather in the freezer is the freezer door seal is old and not sealing correctly.

Is the freezer working all right still?

Refrigerator has water leak

Had the same problem with mine. Got a technician to have a look. Inside the fridge at the back there's an overflow tray. CHeck if this is not blocked. Clear it by putting a tray behind your fridge under the overlfow pipe and pour hot water through the overflow tray inside the fridge. Sometimes food gets stuck in there and nobody thinks to clear this out. Mine was easily unblocked and now its stopped leaking.
