The machine was found to have stopped mid way through the program after the hot water has emptied but before the rinse, with the green lights still on, but nothing happening. Turning off and back on and resetting, by holding down the start button will allow you to re select the program but although the green lights show, nothing happens. After leaving off for a very long time (many hours), the machine will start to work again, but then stops at the same place. Later I tried the spin cycle (after many hours of leaving off) and at the end of the spin cycle the power light and the extra rinse light flash rapidly and cant be turned off except by turning off the power supply. After turning on again a program can be selected and the appropriate green lights come on, but no action then happens like before.

Sounds like a cold water supply fault which could be the solinoid valve, the water turned off, a kinked or twisted cold supply pipe or a wiring fault. Check out the error code sequence here. You never said what make or model you have (the error codes are only for Hotpoint, Creda and Indesit machines)

Hi I fixed the problem by removing the filter at the bottom right hand corner of the washing machine and removing 2 x £1 coins that had got stuck there
sometimes machines stop to heat the water. does your machine ever start again? if it does not start on its own, it could be a time issue, or a heater element issue. if it calls for heat and it never heats, it will never run. if it ever drains, then the issue is not the pump. its a logic board. good luck mark
