I don't think the fan on it' own crates the problem. Could you find out what should be and what actually is the flow through it. Goodman heatpump fan runs, condenser wont start

Either the condenser fan has bad bearings, or it has a defective fan capacitor.
Turn off the breaker to the outside unit.
Spin the fan blade by hand.
If the fan blade spins easily and will spin a few revolutions with no problem the fan bearings are good.
If not, replace the fan motor due to bad bearings.
I am pretty sure you fan motor is bad because with a bad capacitor the fan motor will not get up to speed and may just sit and overheat.
I'm leaning toward a bad fan motor.

Heatpump r-22 rudd system, unit runs starts out heating then compressor stops in middle of heating ,this unit has a out side air temp. sensor just wondering if possible bad board or not

If compressor stops in middle, check the following.
1.Thermostat setting must be minimum +3 degree than your room temp
2. Check it's in heat "mode"
3. Check indoor and outdoor coils are clean.
4. Check fan motor is working alright.
5. Outside sensor and room air sensor is placed correctly.
6. Gas pressure is o.k
7.Check compressor is overheated, even all the above is o.k.

Rudd Achiever series model RQNJ-AO42JK 000 mfg

Turn the thermostat as low as it will go and have someone stand out side, they should here the condensor fan and compressor come on at the same time. They are two distinctive sounds so you should
be able to tell if the compressor is running.

If nothing happens and you are skilled with electrical
you can turn power off and remove the electrical
cover to the outside unit. Restore power and carefully
push in the contactor, if the fan and compressor
starts you have a thermostat or low voltage problem.

If just the outdoor fan runs on any attempt, more than likely you need a new capacitor.

Where is the capacitor located on a coleman heatpump

If you're talking about the outside fan, look where the wire goes into the outside unit. The capacitor will be somewhere near the circuit board and will be round or oval and metal or plastic. If you're talking about the inside unit it will be with the electrical control in the air handler. Write down where the wires go. The terminals on the capacitor will be marked and for the outside unit you will either have 1 that runs both the fan and compressor or a seperate one for each. If you have 1 that runs both the wires must be reconnected to the right terminals. They will be marked COM, FAN, HERM(stands for compressor). Take the old one with you to get a new one. Let me know what you find.

How do reverse polarity on rudd ac compressor

Is this a 3 phase compressor? If it is it will have markings L1 - L2 - L3 and it will not have a run capacitor, then just reverse any two compressor wires. If it's single phase then you can't without Burning up the start windings, it will be marked C - S - R and have a run capacitor, these markings are on the Compressor.

Heat pump fan does not run when house heat is on

The outside fan should be running except when the Heatpump goes in to defrost mode. Then the fan stops with the compressor running and it switches the reversing valve to heat up the outdoor coil. That should last about 5 min and you may see steam come off of the outdoor coil. That's normal.
Is the compressor running? It's possible that it's stuck in defrost or the fan simply died. I hope this helps.

AC/Heatpump units cycle numerous times blowing ambient air.

If the compressor never kicks in, I would check the start capacitor, thermostat and the compressor windings. Most times the start capacitor is defective. Some window air conditioners the fan will run while the compressor stop through the thermostat switch. If the thermostat switch is bad every thing runs except the compressor. Let me know, Thanks, Sea Breeze

If your Heatpump's fan isn't running but your compressor is, your fan motor is out. If nothings happening at all ensure your getting power to heatpump (ex: breaker tripped, fuses blown on outside power switch, or fuses blown in breaker box?)

My house have a gas heating and electric cooling system. When I turned the cooling on the outside fun started but the cooling system inside house does nto start. I tried heating system it dose not start...

if the fan outside is running then feel the compressor outside or listen to it if you can notice that the compressor is running the same time the outside fan is running also.

it could be that the compressor is not running.

but if you can notice that the compressor is making a different sound as it turn on, then the compressor is running but not cooling, then you could have a leak problem. there is no or little refrigerant in the system.

if you have a leak, please contact your local repair man to do it.

Rudd heatpump doesn't cool

Hi, Is the condenser fan running? If not, Check the circuit breaker inside the house and the quick disconnect at the condensing unit. Making sure the power is off, check for any bugs in the contactor. If it is running, check to see if there are any resets on a high pressure switch or control board in the condenser. Check the compressor capacitors and see if they are leaking oil or swelled up. are there any burned wires? Is the compressor hot? If the fan is running and the compressor is not hot it is probably off on Low Pressure and needs charged by a licensed Air Cond Tech. Hope I have helped. Let me know. kstfas
