Regarding the blank screen, your monitor is most likely faulty - I'm assuming an LCD screen, in which case the backlight is failing, possibly the tubes or the the inverters.

Regarding the fans, you may have pulled the fan leads out of their connectors on the motherboard. Check to see if the CPU fan spins while the computer is switched on.

There is definitely a power supply problem with the Dell XPS 200 I have. It starts fine and runs beautifully for about an hour. Then suddenly the screen goes blank, the light on the power button flashes...

First ingeneers build things to fuction AS IS, so i'm not sure you need more fan power.

Verify the inside of the computer is the CPU heat sink (big aluminium block with fan) CLEAN of any dust? are all the fans turning correctly (resonable speed)? verify the placement of the PC itself is it cooked up in a cabinet or pushed against a wall (blocking the holes in the case for air intake)?

if all of the above is OK you could re-paste the CPU (spreading new heat sink compound between the CPU and the heat sink)

Good luck!

take the battery on the motherboard out. the little disk battery. leave it out for about five minutes. that should reset the bios and cmos to default. also , make sure you plug your monitor into it a default monitor slots on your computer, not to the VGA card if you have one.

Clean the insides of your Desktop case.

1. make sure all the fans(CASE FANS, POWER SUPPLY FANS AND CPU FANS) are working dust and lint free.
2.remove dust and dirt build up in CPU heat sinks.
3. remove dust and dirt build up in the motherboard, RAM and
expansion slots.
4. remove dust and dirt build up on CD-ROM's, Hard Disk Drives and expansion bays.
5.apply new thermal paste on your CPU.

Power shuts off and takes several minutes to turn back on

If the computer is overheating, those are the symptoms that would happen. Turn on your computer with the cover off. Are all the fans working (even in the power supply)? Is there a lot of dust build-up anywhere? Can you try another power supply? You need not install it in the computer case, just hook up the connectors with the known good power supply just outside the case and try it. Is your processor heat sink securely connected to the processor?

Computer wont work when 2x2 connector is plugged in

sounds like a cpu problem, or a failing power supply.
