My canon mp620 won't print the black color. printing an email is blank. test page prints OK

I've seen a number of reports like this. I assume that you CAN print from other programs, such as your Internet browser?

If you can't print from ANY program, that's one thing, but if the only programs that aren't printing are WordPad and Notepad (and they print blank pages), the usual cause is that your printer (always a color inkjet of some type) will not print documents that are all black & white, but as long as there is some color in the page, the page prints.

The reason for that is something wrong with the black ink cartridge. Have you recently put in a new black cartridge, and if so, is it not the ink recommended by the printer manufacturer?

Or has the printer been sitting unused for a long time?

Print a test page using the printer's front panel controls. What happens?

Depending on the make and model of the printer, you might need to:
(a) run the printer's print head cleaning routine,
(b) print a test page, perhaps several times,
(c) manually clean the printer's printing head or related parts,
(d) insert a new black ink cartridge of the recommended type.

Printers today are generally disposable due to the high cost of replacement parts and the cheapness of a new unit. I had a similar problem and replacement was the cheapest alternative.

Get the latest driver from Canon's web site. Then uninstall the printer. Remove the driver from your computer. Use regedit to remove any traces of your printer from your registry. Install the new driver. That should do it.

DOES The Meter count form come out blank when you. print it? Does the Test print come out ok in the user setting print form select test print. Is it OK? Go to service mode select each color and print are they OK does the machine COPY OK in color or black and white? Try different computer try different files try adobe try web page try outlook excel etc. mite just be that file try different file same program. Can bad drums or transfer belt or transfer roller the sponge looking roller right side when open.

Try this;
- Open the document you want to print - Go to file > Print - click properties in the print window - in the menu select 'Maintenance' - in the 'Maintenance' click 'Ink Cartridge Settings' - select Black Only - click OK - click OK - now you can print only using the black ink in the printer.

Does printer have 2 black cartridges, 1 large 1 small? if so, the small black one and colors only takes care of the color print jobs and the large black one, the main black and white jobs. Make sure you don't have an empty large black cartridge.

Did you try to wipe the cartridge.Maybe there's a clogs. inside.

• Unplug the printer cable from the computer.
• Unistall the printer drivers from Device manager and also unistall the all the printer appications
• restart the computer
• try to download drivers from the website
• after installing drivers and software it will ask you to connect the printer.
• then you can connect the printer and and try to Print the test page.

Remove the printer from control panel, under installed printers, then unplug the usb cable and reinstall the printer drivers using printer cd, or download from canon support website.
