Why is my microsoft lifecam vx-1000 not compatiable with windows vista and is there a download to make it compatiable.

Make sure you choose the correct OS before downloadinng and take the time to read the 'Readme' file before installing software.

you need to download the driver for vista for this camera from microsoft.

There are number of ways:
1. Connect the camera to the PC and go 'start' - 'Windows update' and let Windows and the update site find the driver for you.

2. Search using your browser by going to Microsoft.com and entering 'driver lifecam VX-1000'. The search will provide you with a number of options, one of those will be for Vista.

3. Right click on 'My Computer' -'Manage'-'Devices' and pick the one with the question mark (should be your Lifecam), 'update driver' and let it search the internet for the driver.
