How to charge my rca opal mp3 player - RCA OPAL M4001 MP3 Player

It started out infrequent, I would plug in to the computer and ...nothing, another time... it would charge. The frequency of nothing has increased to where I figure, whats the use. Is it the cabel, the MP3 Player???? I've tried different computers and ruled out a computer problem.

    Very dissappointed in this product!

I've had 3 of these, one lasted 10 months, one 3 months, one one month. I didn't have the receipt for the first it was a gift. I still have it. The second one I did have the receipt and exchanged it. The 3rd one I had for one month and lost the receipt so I still have that one. All of them stoped everything and went totally blank. Is this the battery inside. I contacted RCA and they said I would have to send them in and without the receipt it would cost $55 each to fix them. They only cost $49.95. The reason I keep getting these is because it's the only one I can find in my price range that is compatable with Windows 2000, Windows Media 9, charges by pluging it into the computer and is compatable with Audible book downloads. Where can I find one that does all this?

You just connect it to your computer via the USB cable. Once connected, your player should say USB connected and automatically start to charge the unit. Hope this helps!

RCA OPAL M4001 MP3 Player

Check this link out, and search for the drivers there:
http://www.rcaaudiovideo.com/categories.aspx?product=319&post=6

You shouldn't need a driver to recharge, though.  It should be recongnized by your computer as a MTP device.  What OS are you using?
