JVC Camcorder model GR AXM18U Tape door won't open. I used this camcorder maybe three or four times, and then the tape door stuck. I press the button, nothing. I cannot open it manually without forcing it, which I don't want to do. Any ideas? Thanks so much

I have the same problem, The camcorder will not take in the tape, stuck the tape holder will not go back in, notify me when you have a solution. Thanks
Eject tape leaving cover open and remove battery. Re-insert battery and re-insert tape also leaving cover open. Keep repeating this process until eo4 message disappears. This worked for my GR-DVL100e after about four repeats. After getting your camcorder operational, they say it is good practice not to leave tape in camcorder when not in use.
I had this same issue and it was driving me crazy. If you do not turn the camcorder on and hold the eject button, when it is trying to eject tap right in the middle of the tape (next to the eject button) I had to do this twice before it opened but it worked. It tends to tighten the tape up and reset that error code message it is receiving internally.
if there are no missing parts ? you will get it
back in approximately 10 days . . . the repairs
will not exceed $ 50 ( plus shipping to and from
puerto rico - zip 00794 )
Usually when the recording is started it takes around 10 to 15 seconds for the camera to recognise and display the duration of remaining tape, if you feel there is a problem, try using different brand tape.
