I'm trying to unlock my television which had a code put in about 7 yrs ago. It was for a 14 tv rating system.

Locate the manual for your television. Though slightly embarrassing, accidentally turning on the child lock to a TV is a common problem. The section In the manual about how to set the child lock feature will also explain how to unlock it.

Try a few "universal methods" for unlocking the child lock. Some televisions have a universal code built in for disabling the child lock --no matter what your code is. A common code is "0000."
Unplug your television for a few minutes. The internal battery of the TV is what helps remember what your code. If the TV is unplugged for an extended period of time, it clears the internal memory, which in turn will reset your child lock code.

Sorry,u can't unlock secret codes.Tries unplug,replug tv an hour later.Tv is reseting back to factory default,might erase the codes too?

If you forget your pass code, you can view the locked
TV without entering your pass code. When you are
prompted for your pass code, press the number 9 and QV
buttons on the TV remote control at the same time. This
process temporarily unlocks the TV

if u dont know the code plz replace memory ic with the help of service men, it not costs much, then memory will be gone &ur tv will work normally

your tuner has failed;
time for another set the cost to repair is too high

Enter 8888 as the password & then push ok.

This set should have the standby light blink a code number,pause number. Can you please post that count and the model number? With that I should be able to assist.
