Alarm sounds as F7 appears when oven is about 90 minutes into self clean

The Fault Code/s will show up in the appliance Display
F0 - No Alarm Signal
Replace Main Electronic Control
F1 - Door will not Lock
Check door lock. Is Door Lock Getting Power
F2 - Door will not Un-Lock
Check door lock. Is Door Lock Getting Power Supply? Check Control Thermostat
F3 - Self Test Error
Disconnect Appliance from Mains Supply, Wait 5 Minutes and then Reconnect to Mains Supply
F4 - Shorted or Open Circuit Oven Temperature Sensor
Replace Oven Temperature Sensor, Check Sensor Harness Connection between Sensor and Control Unit
F5 - Relay Contacts Failed - Sticking
Replace Main Electronic Control
F6 - Power Board Temperature Too High
Check Correctly Installed, Check Cooling Fan Assembly, Ducting and Airways
F7 - Incorrect Polarity - Mains Supply
Check Mains Connection - Live & Neutral round the wrong way
F8 - Power Supply to Interface Problem
Check Wiring Harness, Replace Main Electronic Control
F9 - Procesor is Auto Resetting
Disconnect Appliance from Mains Supply, Wait 5 Minutes and then Reconnect to Mains Supply

I found this on an appliance forum. It sounds the same as your problem. They say the code is F5 E1. Apparently the door lock latch is stuck.

TOUCH PANEL & MICROCOMPUTER BOARD TEST FOR WHIRLPOOL....

The microwave oven may be provided with a self diagnostic routine that can be operated

through the touch pad keyboard. To enter the self-diagnostic routine:

1.While pressing the CANCEL keypad:
a) Open the oven door.
b) Unplug the microwave oven for 2-seconds and plug it back in.
c) Release the CANCEL keypad and close the oven door. You will see the following display.

NOTE: The humidity sensor test results will appear on the display after 8-seconds.If the tests are successful, "OK " will be displayed. POWER FAILURE & FAILURE CODES
Power Failure: After a power failure, the WELCOME screen will be displayed.

F2 Keyboard Failure: Refer to the Tech Sheet and conduct a touch panel continuity test.

F3 Humidity Sensor Failure: Refer to the Tech Sheet and test the sensor.

F6 Microwave Relay Failure: Check the microwave relay.

F7 Microcomputer Board Failure: Change the microcomputer board.

F8 code means your door latch assy needs to be replaced. Two options:
1. Turn it off on the circuit braker
2. Replace the door latch.
It will continue to try to lock itself most likely, as door latch microswitch logic is messed up.

HI. This is the result of a failed function key. This is an integrated part of the main control board. Unfortunately, this is not repairable, and the main control board will need to be replaced, asap.

Sorry you haven't had an answer to your inquiry yet. You may not even require a remedy any longer, but in the event you do I'll post it.

The "F5" in the smw272 wall unit is indicating the on-board watchdog has detected a oven temperature sensor fault/failure. The remedy issued by Thermador's tech support and authorized technicians service manual's is to first replace the oven temperature sensor. If the display should still display after wards, replace the main relay board.

It may be too late to suggest, but you may be best served having an authorized thermador tech look at it.

No F7 in my tech sheet Could it be a F1 Failed transistor in control If code cannot be cancelled, replace the Electronic Range Control (ERC) or touch pad if you want to do it yourself let me know...

Holly, the info I have on the F7 states that it might be a problem with the touch panel, shorted matrix or start key. Try unplugging the touch pad ribbon from the main board and cleaning the end with an eraser. See if the error returns after that. Catriver..post back.
