My kirby heritege the bar is not spining the belt is fine

Remove the clamps from the suction nozzle and pull out the roller. First of all check that both ball bearings are in order, so dust and hair free and run easily without too much play. Look carefully at the different depth marks on both sides and Make sure that they are reverted to the same setting marker. The belt is in the middle and with the square gray dial in front of the suction nozzle, you fully tighten the string so that the red color face of the top is visible when you look through the hole of the suction nozzle you see that the belt is tightened and in this Position may leave the belt for a short period of time, as always as soon as possible, ensure that the tension of the belt is off after each use.In short, in the tightened position, place the suction nozzle on the mounting bell at the bottom by lifting the motor housing slightly at the front or adjusting the depth adjustment as much as possible, just what you want, first place the suction nozzle on it and fix it with the clamp and then Couterclockwise turn the gray knob into the green mode.

I was using my Craftsman 12 Gal 5.0 160 HP Wet/Dry Vac, dry vacuuming, and it just stopped working. I did check the receptacles but that was not the issue.

Good day!

Try to see the motor and the carbon brush that connected to it..

This are the step on how to open or remove the cover of the vacuum to reveal the motor.
  1. Take off the top panel.
  2. Loosening all screws that you will see inside that top panel.
  3. After that, the top cover of the vacuum release and the image of the motor reveal.
  4. Now try to look at the motor and remove it to the unit by unscrewing it.
  5. Next, try to spin it manually using your 2 fingers and hold the plate then spin it.If the plate is hard to spin, the motor is need to re-align.
  6. To re-align the motor you have to loosen the screws at the 4 corners then release the rotor then back again.
  7. After that, clean the bushing of motor and the rotor and apply the motor oil for lubrication. Then re-install it and tighten the screws on the 4 corners while you re-align the rotor.
  8. Use a rubber mallet to align the rotor, hit the body of the motor while you tighten the 4 corners screws.
  9. After that spin the plate again to test the alignment,if the plate spin it smoothly.the alignment is OK.
  10. After that you have to test the resistance of the motor to make sure that the carbon brush is contact to the armature of the rotor.Use a multimeter (range in ohms) then point the test probe directly to the carbon brush wire.It should have not more than 25 ohms depends on the horse power of the motor.
  11. When the reading is open the contact of the carbon brush is reaching the armature of the rotor.Replace the carbon brush.
If you accomplish all of the steps above and the you found a defective parts.Test the vacuum by powering it ON.

Thank you very much and wish you luck.

Belt came off, is there a part that connects the belt to the shaft?

No. The only reason the belt should come off is if the tension wasn't tight enough. This could indicate the wrong belt or worn/loose belt. The belt can be tightened by moving the motor away from the brush slightly, then tightening the screws on the motor. There should be long enough slots in the motor to allow for this.

Bissell Healthy Home Won't turn on

I found the solution for my vaccum!!

The top handle connects to the lower half of the handle with one phiilips head screw. The screw is halfway between the cord holder on the back. The screw had come loose and the handle has slid back away making it not make contact to send the power down to the motor.
Hope this helps someone else!

Vacuum will not work to bring dirty water up in canister

check for suction. Turn it over and start to see if the brushes are turning. If they are not then the flywheel on the blower motor has ripped loose from the motor shaft and it will have to be replaced. It is made of aluminm and does not last long. Mine lasted 13 monthy. Just out of warranty ! go figure.

My belt that connects to the brush wheel. how do i connect it?

Depending on the model you have, you'll have to remove the sole plate (i.e. the foot plate where the brush meets the carpet) and then stretch the belt over the motor flywheel. Dont try it the other way (i.e. get the belt on the brush and then pull roughly to meet the motor flywheel)  as its easier to get the roller brush over the belt and then strongly push the beater bar/roller brush back into place making sure both ends are seated properly. Then fix the sole plate on securely and switch on to see if it works.

KIRBY G4 FAN ASSEMBLY ORDER

First put the gasket on the spacer, thin end to to out, push it down all the way on the motor shaft, then put the nylon washer on, then the fan, metal washer and then the pulley, just snug it, (don't tighten too much just beyond hand tightening). Put the casing, top and handle back on.
