When you say you press on the "metal face of it", are you referring to the cone of the speaker or some other metal part of the speaker? It sounds like a broken wire somewhere, I'm just not sure if it's one of the connecting wires between the jacks and the coil or within the voice coil itself.

Definitely a broken wire. With your eye, follow the wires leading from the contacts (banana jacks?) to the rest of the speaker. Look for any breaks, frays, or other anomalies. If you don't spot something, your choices are limited:

  1. Take the speaker to a speaker repair shop.
  2. Toss it and buy a new one.

I have two kicker compc dvc 4ohm 15s in a ported box. Can I hook it up to a Mmats pro audio d700.1 mono amp?

From the information I could find on that amplifier, it is stable at one ohm and provides 700 W RMS at that resistance. With two four ohm dvc subs you can wire them parallel/parallel for a final load of one ohm.

My one kickers car speaker won't turn on, i replaced the old speakers and put these new kickers 6" speakers. One speakers works but other one doesn't?

try bridging them , first check wires from amp to box or boxes connectors , then check wires inside the box or boxes , then check fuses on amp !

Goes into protection mode for no reason

if the amp is powering on the sub and playing and then turns in to protect mode it could be the amp is getting hot and its kicking into protect so you wont fry the amp
