How do I delete old files from my Sansa 8gb? I deleted everything from Windows Madia Player, yet, the device indicates it is more than half full, still. I can't reload the songs I had on it before, but...

When you hace the usb cable connected go to "My Computer or Computer" and you will see it listed as a drive. Click on it and open the folder that has the songs and delete the ones you don't want. DO NOT Format(erase) the entire drive or you will erase the operating system of the Sansa.
Thanks for using FixYa

How come when I plug my new mp3 player in my car, it only plays the preloaded songs that came with theproduct? I have an MP727-8G

you have to have the songs you loaded in the same root folder as those songs in order for the head unit to find them. Connect the player to your computer and open the files to view. Browse your way to the preloaded songs and simply move the others to that same folder. While your there, you may want to delete the preloaded stuff that you dont want.
