Tip & How-To about Washing Machines

The washing machine spins but will not drain?

To trouble shoot this problem please check this possibilities:-- The first thing to check out in this problem is check the draining line in the washing machine. Check if the drain line is got clogged or its getting blocked by any metal or dust object in the pump. Also check in between the inner clothes tub and the outer tub which holds the water. If the blockage is between the tubs, then it may clog the drain hose which is connected to the pump. If you notice blockage in the pump, then remove the hoses from the pump and clear the blocking material by removing it out.
But if the pump is clean and clear and hoses are also seen clean then the other part to check is
outer tub part, for that you will need to open the washer's main access panel and remove the rubber material hose connecting the pump .the hose is exactly connected to the bottom area of the outer tub. If you notice any blockage/clogging in that area you can remove it with the help of pliers.
If you are not able to remove the clog or if you can see but its seen in very inner area then you need to take the agitator out, after removing the agitator remove the top of the outer drum shield, and inner clothes tub. You will require some special tools to do the job in this case.
But if inner tub, agitator and other parts looks clean and clear then you need to check the drain pump. it may be leaking or it may be worn out and got loose.
This is the basic checking and troubleshooting you can do it yourself to resolve this issue of not draining.

my dishwasher is leaving a soap residue after the wash cycle. What do I need to do?

Many possible causes.
My list to trouble-shoot this would be:
  1. Rinse dishes less before loading--the dirt on the dishes is what the detergent acts upon. You only need to rinse off hard stuff like bones, seeds, toothpicks, and so on.
  2. Is your rinse-aid dispenser putting out enough?
  3. Use a little bit less detergent.
  4. Check the little nozzles in your spray arms. Maybe they have become blocked. (Sesame seeds are the sort of thing that cause headaches here.)
  5. Check drain lines and filters.
  6. Do you have hard water? Maybe your machine would work better with a water softener--whether built into the machine, or on the supply lines for the house.

Why are dishes not getting the soap rinsed off efficiently? Heavy soap residue remains even with rinse treatment.

Whirlpool DU1055XTSS trouble shooting

i wouldn't worry too much about shortening line, unless its extreme. ck fro possible restriction in line(possible kink ) or the sink down spout that is draining into. a d/w will ***** remove all the water after cycle is complete, its normal to have a small amount of water just below or above the filter plate

water/ice maker runs on it's own

The drain the water thing is to get the air out the lines and filter so a burst of air doesn't splash water all over you. Water shooting out sounds like the circuit board is bad since you are not pushing the tabs, etc. I doubt that BOTH switches under the tabs are stuck in the "on" positon but you can always double check that too.
