I get protect error on my car stero, can u help solve the problem. Thanks, VJ

The "PROTECT" message is associated with an audio output issue. This is usually a shorted / damaged / mis-wired speaker output wire(s) between the the radio and speakers or external amplifier, but may be a damaged output transistor inside the radio.

Carefully inspect the speaker output wires of the radio. Make sure all are intact, insulation is not chafed, stripped or otherwise damaged. Tape or repair when found. Double check the wiring (if this is a new installation) to be sure it is correct. Rewire as needed.

After making repairs, power up the radio and see if it works. If it does not, damage has probably occurred inside the radio as a result of the damaged speaker wiring being allowed to exist too long or turning to volume up for even a relatively short period of time. It can also happen if connected to very low impedance speakers. Any of these conditions can cause internal components to fail. The radio will probably have to be professionally repaired to play as expected again.

Hopefully, you'll find and correct a speaker wire problem and it will play again. If my reply was helpful, please rate it "4 thumbs up". Thanks & good luck!

Trying to hook a dvd player up how do i do that

There are three ways subject to what your DVD player and receiver can support.
1. Connect the stereo output of the player using a pair of analogue interconnects. The outputs are usually color coded red and white (for left and right). Simply plug in the interconnect and connect the other ends to a matching pair of inputs on the Receiver. Then make sure you select the correct input on the Receiver for the sound to come through.
2. The second method is to take advantage of surround sound audio (Dolby 5.1 for example) on the DVD. You will of course need a surround sound speaker system connected to your Receiver to take advantage of this. You'll need 'either' an Optical or Coaxial cable. These are both single cables that carry the digital audio form the player to the Receiver. Check your manual to see which ones your equipment has. Alternatively look on the back of the DVD player, the digital output is usually marked quite clearly. Obtain a suitable cable, and plug into the DVD player and the other end into the Receiver. Again make sure select the correct input on the Receiver. You 'may' need to go in to the menu settings of the DVD player in order to tell it to output the digital signal.
3. HDMI - If you DVD player, Receiver AND TV all have HDMI connections then this is by far the easiest. You'll need 2 HDMI cables. The first one goes from the DVD player into the Receiver, the second goes from the Receiver to the TV. Again make sure you select the correct HDMI input on the Receiver and the correct HDMI input on the TV and that should get you going!
Hope this helps?

Why? no sound from the speskers at all.

There are a few things that could cause no sound and although some are obvious I'll got through them all..

1) Sound is on Minimum

2) Sound is Muted

3) No Power to Subwoofer

4) Speakers connected Incorrectly or Faulty

5) No AUDIO IN connections to TV-IN or AUX-IN

6) Incorrect Input Source is Selected (See Below)

Connecting audio from TV

When connecting the audio output from your TV to this Home Theater Audio System, you will have the sound of the

TV output on all the speakers. It will enable you to enjoy the multi-channel surround sound capabilities.

Use an audio cable (red/white - not supplied) to connect the TV IN jacks on this DVD system to the AUDIO OUT

jacks on the TV. To listen to the sound, press TV on the remote control as the sound source that you want to play.

Connecting audio from an audio/video device

This DVD system provides analog and digital audio connection. You can connect the audio output from an

audio/video device (e.g. VCR, Cable/Satellite Box) to this Home Theater Audio System in order to enjoy the

multi-channel surround sound capabilities.

Use an audio cable (red/white - not supplied) to connect the AUX IN jacks on this DVD system to the AUDIO OUT

jacks on the connected device. To listen to the sound, press AUX/DI to select "AUX" as the sound source that

you want to play.

Or

Use a coaxial cable (not supplied) to connect the DIGITAL IN jack on this DVD system to the DIGITAL OUT jack on

the connected device. To listen to the sound, press AUX/DI to select "DI" as the sound source that you want to play.

Please leave feedback

Cheers

Problem w/ Panasonic SA-HT700 speakers

Try looking in the audio settings,it might be configured for stereo/mono or any number of surround sound settings e.g; 5:1, 7:1 In which case it might shut off the power to the circuit board inwhich the speakers are connected. If that fails .......Take it back!! Either the connection inside the speakers is faulty or the connections in the unit are faulty.

Surround sound help

A few questions... What components are involved? How are they connected? Can you hear sound from the speakers for any other input device i.e. radio, cd, vhs, etc.? I suspect that there is an issue with the way the system is connected. I have the Surround sound output from my DVD player connected to the digital surround sound input on my reciever. I'm using digital coax cable (looks like a "normal" RCA cable), not the optical fiber connection. I had to buy a special cable for the digital surround sound. A normal RCA cable would not work. I don't know why. If you're using a similar connection, that could be your issue. make sure that the output and inputs you're using are compatible. A digital surround sound connection (in or out) can't be connected to an analog connector (in or out). Remember, Digital to Digital with a Digital capable cable; Analog to Analog with an Analog capable cable. If this is not your issue, post back here with more info and we'll see what we can figure out.
