Typewriter problem my typewriter paper roller is not moving left and right. How must i fix it.

There is a lever usually just below the carriage on the side of the T/W that locks the carriage.

the return lever will allow you to move it to the right
on each end of the roller there are small levers that when pressed allow the roller to moved in either direction

there is a little flip handle that you need to move back, this will make the paper get grabbed. It is probably silver and on the right side of the carriage (roller)

If nothing happens no carrier movementor paper feed you probably have a bad keyboard.
If the carrier moves but no feed the index motot may need to be lubed.
If the roll moves but the paper dosen't you may have debris on the paper tray or bad lower fed rolls.

to replace the feed rollers under the platen. 1 - remove the platen by squeezing the black plastic clips at the ends of the platen and pulling the platen straight up. 2 - pull the paper pan out, 3 - push down on the feed roller set and rotate it towards you. replace bad rollers and put things back in reverse order. there is a guide on the rod the feed roller unit sits on, make sure the guide on the feed roller unit goes back in this. there are pins at the right side and left side of the right and left feed roller units. these are for positioning the paper pan in the slotted tabs on the bottom of the paper pan. make sure the gear on the platen goes on the left side, position the clips to center on the frame, then push straight down. make sure both clip are fastened in. the only reason you should be replacing these rollers is if they are splitting apart or falling off due to the pins at the ends of the rollers wearing off (never seen this happen on a WW6) if you are having some sort of other problem, you might ask for a different solution before doing this - its harder than it sounds.

thats in the platen(the big roller) just check the small (feed roller) roller at the back of the type guide, or (the paper finger) in the big roller connected to type guide 3inch on the left 3inch on the right thats the part to tighten your paper

Do you see the lmar and rmar above the number keys printed on the cover? Move the carriage to where you want to set the left margin Then hold down the ALT key and depress the corresponding number key under the lmar symbol. Repeat for the right margin.

What is the make and model? Usually a lever on the left side or right side of the paper roller (platen) with numbers or marks. If it is electronic, then a slide button on the keyboard.

The return clutch torque limiter is off or broken. If you take the right dust cover off it is on the turning hub around the middle of the typewriter. a small spring about 1.25 inches long with a hook on the end. I have been fixing these for 35 years. good luck. Lawrence

The paper release lever may be in the release mode. try holding the left platen knob and pulling lightly on the paper is should not allow the paper to move freely, if it is ok try holding the left knob and turning the right knob in the direction you would to turn the paper in it may have come loose if so turn it all the way back in do not over tighten it your machine does not click when the platen is turned it uses electronics to hold the platen on line.
