Great pictures look flat and dull when sent as e-mail attachments

I just got a new Canon Rebel T1i. My pictures turn out great...very sharp and crisp. However when I send them as e-mail attachments, they look flat and dull. Is this a function of my e-mail system (hotmail)? My computer screen being antiquated (6 years old)? I haven't tried printing them from e-mail yet (need a new cartridge) so I'm not sure if they will print clear and sharp or more like they look in the e-mail. Any ideas?

Probably is the computer, get one of your photos developed from a machine and see if it comes out well, then you'll know if its the camera or the computer.

I have a canon rebel t1i and while in sports mode at night, it takes fuzzy pictures and nothing comes out clear?

You have to Manually Set/Override the ISO settings to a larger number like 1600 or higher this will let the camera take pictures at faster shutter speed to freeze the action, Try to use the camera in more manual modes, Tell the camera what do, old school photograpy.

What does "BUSY" mean on my Canon Rebel T1i, while I'm trying to upload pictures onto my computer?

It means that the transfer is in process. It's letting you know that you shouldn't turn off your camera - it is busy!

Trying to locate a manual for a canon eos 500d, it is not a new camera but one lent to me by the wifes friend to get me going

The EOS 500D is called the Rebel T1i in some parts of the world. You can download the T1i manual and more from the manufacturer's web site at

When I look through the eye hole of the Canon Rebel t1i, the view and numbers of the eye hole are blurry even though everything is auto focused, and when I take the picture, it's clear. Why is the eye hole...

There's a diopter adjustment knob just to the right of the viewfinder. Turn it while looking through the viewfinder at a blank wall until the numbers in the viewfinder appear sharp. This knob allows the camera to adjust for individual eyesight.

My canon t1i rebel does not take pictures and says its busy?? wha

In the manual mode, you have to set the focus (distance to subject), aperture and shutter speed. Did you set all of them before you shot the picture?

Canon Rebel T1i

I have the canon 70 -300 sitting right here beside me on my XTi, it also fits my XSi and all my EOS mount film bodies. one thing about canon EOS lenses and bodies: They fit and work together. Yes there are cheaper lenses, but I just answered another question on this website from somebody who has a 3rd party lens (and a high quality lens ta-boot) that will not work on his canon. This is typical of canon. They do not release all of their codes to 3rd party manufactures. Your friend just bought a premium camera, do not let him put a lesser lens on the camera, he will not be happy and the savings will not be that significant to make up the difference...

The images are not crisp - as if not fully in focus

I am having the same problem. I bought a Tamron zoom lens as an add on. This lens costs more than the camera and yet images are not as sharp as i would expect from such a highly touted camera. My Kodak Z740 point and shoot gives sharper prints. This is very frustrating. I bought Rebel for Dummies and still am having the same problem. Very frustrating
