Remove the bottom front panel 2-3 screws at the very bottom. Inside there should be a tech sheet that will explain error codes and how to trouble shoot them on your specific machine. Replacing the CCU is not that hard but getting to it is tricky. See following link to video on repairing duet http://www.rakerappliancerepair.com/ApplianceLibrary/Washers/WashersLibrary.aspx

How do i unlock the controls on my duet Whirlpool washing machine

do you see error code F/14 if so switch the machine power off or unplug it from the wall socket for 2 minuets see below,

EEPROM Error

The Central Control Unit (CCU) receives it's data from an EEPROM onboard the

CCU. If there is an error reading this data it will cause this error.

Potential Causes

• A power glitch may cause this error. Try unplugging the Unit for two minutes to

see if that fixes the error.
• Check CCU.

you'll need to call someone in on this one, boards are very expensive and like it says it names both the ccu and mcu boards or the motor,if you call say whirlpool they might give you the part but you pay for labor and they will have the boards on the truck, the guy will replace one board at a time to see what one is bad,not like the older machines that you can check the parts with a meter.good luck

Whirlpool Duet Washing Maching fault code F70

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error F70 is a communication error between the Central control unit (CCU) and the user interface. To start with you’ll need to check continuity of the user interface and then check the wire harness connecting the user interface & central control unit. If the drum is not moving then central control unit should be replaced. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Whirlpool Duet washer GIVES ME f11 ERROR CODE

The F11 error code means that there is a communication error between the CCU (central control unit) and the MCU (Motor Control Unit) and it is not sending the message correctly. Check the wire harness connectors to the MCU and the CCU. Check the drive system for any worn or failed components. Check the MCU and the CCU and the motor. You may need a qualified repair technician for this one.

Whirlpool duet washer flashing F-11

"F11" is a Serial Communications error. This is usually an indication of a failed Central Control Unit (CCU). This is the main computer for the washer and is located directly behind the wash tub. The wiring harness can also cause the error, but it is not a common problem. Typically, the CCU fails.

In order to access, you will need to remove the top panel of the washer. Ironically, searspartsdirect.com has the CCU listed for about $200. It's listed under the "Control Panel Parts" as item number 15 (part #8182695). Repairclinic.com carries the same part as item number 1776592 and lists it for around $162. This is a simple repair that the average Do-It-Yourselfer can accomplish on their own. If you wish to pursue the cheaper option, post back and let me know. I can give you additional advice on how to install a new CCU.

NOTE: Remove all the connectors from the CCU ONE AT A TIME and reconnect to see if the error code goes away BEFORE you decide to purchase a new one. It is not common, but sometimes a flaky connection can generate error codes.

See? You might have saved yourself about $200 just by reading this. I hope this helps you.

PS If you have a service plan or extended warranty this repair would be covered.
