My Equium A200-1V0 fan stopped working

My Equium A200-1V0 keeps shutting down after approx 15 mins - seems to be overheating. I dont think the fan is working therefore I need to find a service manual to show me how to open the laptop up to see if it is just stuck or to get a replacement and replace it myself. Any ides where to find a manual?

Hi, just thought I'd let you know that when I got my Toshiba Equium 200-1V0 it was supplied with the User's Manual A210 Series. The manual is just basic and does not go into full depth of how to clean out heat sink etc. The problem you described regarding the shutting down is most probably that the heat sink is clogged up with dust and needs to be cleaned. Toshiba has a lot of laptops (different models) with this problem. I had the same problem with Toshiba A200-1V0 and have now got the same problem with the Toshiba A300D-20R which is only 6 months old! On the A200-1V0 I managed to hoover the bottom of the laptop where the fan is and it worked fine, but with the A300D-20R it has not worked, but fortunately it's still under guarantee so I will be sending it back to Toshiba to do it. Here is a link to download the Manuals. You will find the Manual for A200-1V0. Hope this helps. http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_manuals.jsp?service=UK

I am having a similar problem, on the exact same model. I have seen one or two other mentions of this elsewhere as well. This, to me, indicates that the problem is in the model. However, I am inclined to believe that it is a software problem. Regardless, I am afraid I have no solution and am hoping someone else will.

My SATELLE A210 keeps shutting down after approx 15 mins seems to be overheating

You might have to reseat the heatsink and apply some more Thermal paste but before that try using a hoover through the air vents to **** out any dust, you will be surprised how much gets in it, also make sure it's switched off before you do this.

Hi,

The User's Guide is available on this page on the Toshiba website, under the User's Manual tab.

I have also compiled a tip for dealing with overheating issues on Laptops as that is a common issue.
You may please refer to this link for reviewing the same.

Problem with Toshiba Equium Laptop which is switching itself off. even when connected to mains supply Is this a problem with the switch or power supply? Hope you can help thanks

If the laptop shuts down and won't boot up straight away, then the problem could be an overheating CPU problem. It could be a faulty fan and/or the fan and heatsink assembly is clogged with dust.
Check the fan and if it has stopped spinning then replace it and if the fan and heatsink is clogged with dust, loosen the dust and remove it.

I PUT A POTATO IN FOR 6 MIN. AND AFTER ABOUT 2 MIN. IT SHUTS DOWN AND A MIN OR SO LATER IT STARTS UP AGAIN ,BUT THE TIME STILL COUNTS DOWN AND THE TURNTABLE IS STILL TURNING, AND YESTERDAY I HAD TO UNPLUG...

it sounds like it is overheating. but if only stops for a minute or so dont know if that would be enough time to cool off. When you start it up can you hear the fan running? does it keep running when it shuts down? if it's not running then thats the problem If the fan is running and shuts down when it shuts down then try shaking the door when you start it up the next time or you can try it the first time just to eliminate it being a faulty interlock switch. let me know about what you find about these two ideas.

Amana Cooling Condensing Unit fan stops spinning after 15 mins

Capacitor, dirty condencer coil causing the motor amps to run too high. But most likely worn bearing on blade side of motor causing it to pull to one side causing it to over heat and shut down. Sleve bearings should have no side play.

Equium M40X freezes

Hi, it seems your experiencing a overheat issue. At least one fan inside your PC has stopped working. The PC monitors internal heat, when the PC reaches a certain temperature it will shut down & or freeze. Chances are it's the CPU fan.
