How do i remove dvd rom and replace it with dvd burner in my notepad
compaq presario 2500 dg229a
Well, you already have a DVD burner in your machine, and A DVD ROM refers to memory.. you just need to download the upgrades available at Compaq's website. find out which Cd/DVD burner you have by downloading a marvelous freeware program called Belafrc Advisor, which will list all hardware and sofware on your
computer, compete with versions and access codes. then go to
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=228&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=320163&lang=en
which lists all upgrades available for your model. DVD burners stopworking correctly when your non-microsoft burner program becomes corrupt, so be sure to upgrade that. If you have any problems, ask support.
That's Belarc Advisor--google it.
Sorry, I was comletely wrong. A DVD-ROM is a read only DVD, and cant burn anything. You need to find out DVD burner will fit in the space once you remove it. I think you will need to get a manual on your to explain how to remove it. See if this website has the manual. otherwise, go to Compaq to find it. You can find out what DVD burner will fit by finding out at Compaq whether they sell the 2500 dg229a with a DVD burner. Then get the info on that burner, and you can shop online to see if there is a good deal on it, rather than buying it from Compaq. Good luck
