Asus K8S-MS boot problem..

Hi.. this is karthik.. i am using Asus K8S-MS mother board.I have tried to reboot my 80GB sata hard disk. 1st i have copied the RAID file to the floppy drive from mother board cd. then i have started to boot.1st i used f-6 key for 3rd party drivers for RAID then it successfully loads the files from cd rom (bootable xp cd). After completing the formatting of c drive, it says "Cannot copy the file : sysraid.sys". so what could be the problem. Does any one know the answer pls help me.

My understanding is that if you do not have other drives in a raid configuration you do not need the raid driver loaded ,have your hard drive plugged into the first sata slot, then format the hard drive ,instal o/s and all should be good.

hope this is of help

in this case you need to go into the bios and select your hard drive as the first one to boot (boot order)some bios have boot sequence also ,so check that out also, this info should be in the mobo manual,if you don't have it search it out on the net at asus web site

Check your AHCI (or ACHI, can't remember) settings in your BIOS. Turn them off, use "standard pata mode" even though you're using a SATA drive, and try again.

ASUS K8S-MX Motherboard, but when I connect IDE

How were the partitions created on the SATA? Are they RAID configured from the other system? Does the new motherboard have the same support for your HD as the other system? Check the setup in the BIOS screen on both systems to make them identical as much as you can. According to Tom's Hardware: "In the SATA port configuration place you have up to four "mode" choices: IDE (or PATA) Emulation, native SATA, AHCI, or RAID." Check this section. [email protected]

To get rid of this message at boot you must turn off the Chassis Intrusion detector feature. To do this you must restart the computer, as it boots press DEL to enter BIOS.
Under the SECURITY tab in BIOS select CHASSIS INTRUSION and select DISABLE.
Then select EXIT and SAVE CHANGES and OK to reboot the system.
