Communication error when trying to upload pictures to computer

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa.

Upload pictures onto laptop- way too big

This is a 12.1MP camera...if you have it set to take pictures that large, then the files will be huge...too big for the internet. You have to downsize them first...that's perfectly normal. You could set the camera to take lower quality pics, but if you come across one you would like to enlarge, it won't turn out very well. Why not continue the procedure you now use if it's working for you.

Pictures to laptop trouble

Your camera should be off. Plug the cable into your camera and then the computer. Turn on your camera. One of the following should happen:..Windows offers to open the pics in various programs, an icon appears on the desktop(double-click on it and you can copy and paste the files into a folder you create on your desktop)...open "my computer" and it may appear as a removable drive...do the double-click from above. Note...you may have to put your camera into play mode...it differs with some cameras.

Pictures will not upload to laptop.

I had a similar problem recently - the computer wasn't even recognising that it was plugged in. I eventually took the battery out and charged it up, then later it worked perfectly. I hope this is helpful to you.

Memory card fault or camera fault?

When the camera writes the image files to the memory card, it also creates index/information files. Without those files the camera will not display the images.

Check the software you used to upload the images with. There's probably a checkbox or option that tells it to delete the images from the card after uploading them.

Computer isnt reading my camera is plugged in

Wat are you plugging the camera into? Is it the computer direct or a Hub? Remove all USB devises and plug the camera direct to the PC Make sure the camera is switched on and is set to the 'upload' position.
