Are there any error messages on the display when this happens? I'm thinking it's either a sensor issue on the ADF or a the physical latch that tells the printer there's something in the ADF is stuck.

The red light on the startup-button indicates that the machine is not ready for a photocopy. Usally there is something stuck in automated document feeder (ADF). Take a close look and see if can see something in the paperpath. If no luck, try pushing a A4 sheet manually through the ADF and see if something comes out with the sheet. Usally there is a small piece of paper, a paper clip or a staple stuck in the ADF. If nothing found in the ADF, the Scanner Controller Board is probably broke, and needs to be replaced. Good luck.
Basic things to try: -you could start by clicking on devices and printers button on MS start sphere - click on your installed printer right click on "see whats printing and see if any documents are queued in printer - cancel them if there are.
have you checked your ink levels - have you checked ink cartridges are okay (genuine) cartridges if you have just changed them. Is there plastic strips on ink cartridges if new?
have you checked all connections to make sure all peripherals are connected okay.
Have you tried restarting your computer. Have you checked nothing is jammed either in paper tray or inside printer. Is there an error message on the printer console?
sorry this is not a complete solution but you might try these things first.......
I fixed this by changing the Copy Intensity from Auto to Manual I had the same paper jam (caused by pressing Stop during a page going into the ADF), but I had pressed OK as instructed and the page was auto fed back out again. Then I couldnt copy from ADF after that. I tried everything, and then started to retrace my steps of all the things I might have tinkered with to try and get the copying working in the first place, before the paper jam. Then I remembered I had set the Copy Intensity from Manual to Auto (thinking Auto is always best). With hindsight, it now makes sense for it to be manual with the ADF as otherwise how would it load a page, use it to set auto density, and then reload it again for the actual copy to occur. This happens okay on the flatbed scanner as it can scan a little, work out the settings, and then scan for real. Copy Intensity is reached on my Canon MX from the Menu button at the bottom left of the front panel. - Then press the right arrow twice to get to Color Intensity. - Hit OK. - Then right arrow from "Auto" to "Manual Adjust"- Then pick a setting or leave it as half-way between light and dark- Press OK Now every time my ADF copying works a treat. Thats what I get for tinkering in things I didn't need to change in the first place. I was just trying to get a quick copy going from ADF to paper without saving a file up on the computer and then printing.
1. Place letter- or A4-size paper in tray 1, and adjust the side guides. 2. On the control-panel Home screen, scroll to and touch Administration. 3. Touch Troubleshooting. 4. Touch Calibrate Scanner. 5. Touch Calibrate to print the first pass of the calibration target(Print out). 6. Place the first pass of the calibration target face-down in tray 1 so that the arrows are facing into the MFP. 7. Touch Start to print the second pass. 8. Place the calibration target face-up into the ADF, and adjust the side guides. 9. After the calibration target has passed through the ADF once, reposition it face down in the ADF and touch Start. 10. Place the calibration target face-down on the scanner glass, touch Start, and scan the page. After this pass, the calibration is complete. Calibration will fails if print quality is not good...ensure that print quality must be in order.. Once calibration successfully done, restart printer several times & verify start button light, if its green every time 'u' re success. if not cleaning required for CCD which is major work & not suggestable..
on printer properties try to set on sharing tab check marks on : share this printer- render print jobs on client computers- list in the directory ..( all of this must be chacked).. on port tab see on what port is printer ..(tcp/ip - or virtual), on advance tab.. check alway available, spool print documents first., under security see if you have set group permission.. if you did not ,, add the computers to use this printer ( in most cases this is the problem).... if all of the above s set , and you can still not able to print .. enter in run...services.msc... find print spooler and restart it .. then try to print.
Canon Pixma MX330, ADF error, Code : 2,103,0 Here's what I found. There were no stuck gears or pieces of plastic caught anywhere. The ****** can still feed paper, except for (consistently) the last page -->error/stuck.
1) In order to CLEAR THE ERROR you need to do two things
a) & b): a) Press OK, WITH THE HOOD OPEN, with a piece of paper loaded in the ADF, being careful to grab the paper manually as it comes out of the bottom of the hood. b) Windex the strip of glass surface which sits under the ADF next to the platen. This needs to be done with attention to minute detail, and a bright LED flashlight; since ink smudges off of documents and collects on the glass with alarming frequency. The machine may think these smudges are caught/jammed paper.
2) In order to SCAN a stack of paper, add one blank sheet to the bottom of your document. This page will be the one that fails to clear the ADF, generates an error, and must be manually cleared before the next job. The rest of your pages will have already scanned.
my CX4800 has done the same thing. I ran the utilities dozens of times, replaced every cartridge and it feeds papers the print head moves like it's printing but nothing is imaged on the paper.
Searching the web is my last chance to fix it before i toss this 18 month old printer and never buy an epson again.
I had the same or similar problem - the printer would sometimes print as many as two sheets before the outcoming sheet would stick at the top output roller (just before it goes into the output tray).
I tried dumping and cleaning out the waste toner canister also. It did not completely fix the problem but it is acting much better - I can now get 8-10 sheets through before it sticks at the top output roller.
I have had this printer over a year now and seem to remember having issues before where the recommendations was to buy a new canister instead of dumping out the used toner and re-using the current canister. I think I might go that route now that I seem to have resolved weird issues twice by dumping out this canister.
