ITS NOT OVERLOADED. YOU HAVE A DEFROST PROBLEM. ONE OF THREE THINGS ARE NOT WORKING. TIMER, DEFROST THERMOSTAT, OR THE HEATER. THIS SHOULD BE CHECKED BY A QUALIFIED TECH. GOOD LUCK

My fridg and freezer is cold but not could enough the freezer wont keep food frozen. there is no ice build up, I replaced the defrost timer, and I cleaned the fan in the back what else could it be please...

Hello Nicole,

Their are a few things that couldbe causing your refrig.troubles.

1) their is ice build up in the return air vents that is not allowing air to flow correctly
you can see the air vents under the crispers in the ref.floor and can see if they
blocked with ice.

2) the freezer fan is bad and not circulating cold air into and out of the ref.

3) In addation to the defrost timer, perhaps the deforst heater and defrost thermostat are bad and frost is building up in the freezer,Do ya see frost
build up in the freezer??

The bottom freezer has exceesive frost, and is not cold enough. I tried to remove the frost, it will work for about a week afterwords. Help

Really when the fridge frost very excessively there is less cold.
You have to regularly set up defrost setting if your fridge has automatic defrost.
Or your fridge has manual defrost then defrost it twice a week.
To minimize excessive frost, set the temp control setting to just mid- position.
Good luck.

Freezer building up with frost

Sounds like the defrosting system has a faulty timer/board, faulty heating element or bad electrical connections to these components.

More info, let me know...

Have trouble with frost build up with Amana with bottom freezer.

could be thermostat or defrost heater or defrost timer.you can check the heater with meters that check continuity.the thermostatis located on top coil and sometimes they will seperate.so look for those 2 things.most likely it will be one of the 2.the defrost timer is most likely good,if you hear your machine turn off and back on then the timer is good.

Frig not cold but freezer is ice maker not making much ice either

Is your fan blowing in the freezer? Frost on the back wall of the freezer usually indicates a defrost problem... defrost themostate, heaters, take back panel off and check evap for frost build up and if your fan in working.
