Could be that a gear is missing (broken) on the shaft that works the 2nd and 4th gear.Check that the gear on the shaft that the clutch gear engages with does not have a sheared key.
if u find the broken part you may yout replace them to work fine.
if u have mechanical aptitude u can do it easily.

The speed selector assembly is mounted behind the timer control...The left hand knob sets the speed...the speed switch (part # 00-874831) is held in place by a mounting screw and more likely then not is defective...

I have a HL200 that tries to turn for about a half reveloution then trips gfci. They tried to change motor and that didnt fix. Any ideas?

As I said before my mixer is working now with only 2 speeds when it used to do it with 4 speeds and I need to add tha the timer control board was replaced 2 months ago.
