Question about Danby 3.6 cu. ft. / 102 liter Chest Freezer Millenium DCF401W

Danby 3.6 cu ft freezer

My freezer is just over the warrenty period so I'm looking for options to fix it. The freezer was working fine and the green indicator light was on but today the light was flickering and has completely stopped cooling. I checked to make sure it was plugged in and that the door was closing all the way but that was fine. Is there anything i can do or will I have to call someone? Thanks for your help.

If it is out of warranty the cost of repairing it may be more than the cost of replacing it.

Green light

Try unplugging the freezer for 10 minutes to reset the cycle.

Check your outlet with something else that will work, like a radio. If the green light does not come on, then check the wiring. The green light should be on even if the freezer has reached it's temperature. That is simply a light to indicate that power is at the receptacle.

Does the green light come on after freezer is turned back on?

if you turn the freezer off for some time then on again the red light has to come on as an indicator for high temperature it goes off by itself when the freezer attains the required temperature according to the thermostat settings ,that is the lower the settings the faster the red light goes off. the orange light indicates super cooling and the green light indicates power supply.if you turn the two lights off and the freezer still works without the green light on that means that the bulb for the green light is faulty and you don,t need to worry

The light that is supposed to indicate on/off is flickering. However the freezer still works fine. How can I fix this?

Hi,
The flickering light is nothing to worry about... as long as it is flickering it is considered to be "on"
If there is no light then you need to worry...
The light flickering is not something that you need to fix...

The light indicating power on/off is flickering, however the freezer works fine. Is there a way to fix this?

As they say in the old days, if it aint broke, but you could check its ground or connections, the compreressor may be running and affecting the light, its likely ok as is though.

We need to know how much power the 3.6 cu-ft danby freezer uses as we have solar power. Would like to run off the batteries if possible

Am I supposed to turn off the quick freeze once the deep freezer is cold?

i read the entire manual and even type in the words "quick freeze" in pdf. find space and it is not in there.
heres the link read it for yourself
it only mentions green light and red light.
The “POWER” light (Green) indicates that the freezer is properly connected to the electrical power.
The “RUN” light (Red) will not illuminate when the unit is operating below freezing.
The “RUN” light will illuminate when the temperature inside the unit increases above freezing. Please
be advised that the “RUN” light may come on for a period of time when the lid is opened, when new
items are stored inside the unit or when the lid is forced open by irregular contents.
Do not call for service unless the “RUN” light has remained on for 6 hours or more. If this light stays
