use the preset buttons 1 - 4 , press #1 preset until the first digit comes up and repeat the process for 2,3, and 4. if i remember correctly, once the code is entered, press the am or fm button or possible the seek up or down, i'm not completely sure.
Use a pencil eraser and try to clean the contacts on the back of the faceplate, if that fails it may have a cold solder joint on the inside of the face plate. May need replacement.
Sorry man...you need the remote to enter the code.Without it you will not be able to do it. If you go to a larger installation place(Kenwood agent), they may be able to do it for you, or maybe have a remote floating about you can buy. Ask around your mates... someone may have one!! I used to have one in my workshop to turn off codes on customers equipment to service it. Good luck. Hope it all works out for you.
