give me the name of your service provider & type of interconnection you are having. If you find the ip address of your modem itwill be great;following are the steps to find ip address from modem: 1>Connect modem straight to your any 1 of your's computer, check whether it's working / not. 2>If it is working, then click on start button-->programs-->accessories-->command prompt 3>in this black window, where ever the cursor is blinking, type IPCONFIG & hit enter/return 4>Note down the ip address & default gateway & pls let me know so that i can give the exact steps

can you illustrate on how you connect to the internet? ex. from dsl_modem >>> router >>> pc? if this is your situation, either your isp is the problem or some of your configurations might be incorrect, try directly connecting your dsl modem to your pc and surf the net... if you can surf, then its your linksys causing the prob.. from your dsl_modem connect to linksys via internet port and from linksys lan port to your pc...

Check by connecting directly your computer to modem, if still same, then contact ISP, might be a problem at thier end.

I am using linksys wireless g broadband router and i cant connect to the internet it says low connection or no connectivity

I believe you would have a cable connection and no a telephone connection because if you have the second one this router will not be of use to you.
Assuming you are using a cable provider:
http://downloads.linksysbycisco.com/downloads/WRT54GC-EU_V30_UG_NC-WEB.pdf
You could see if you are following all the steps from that manual in order to configure it correctly.
Kind regards

My WRT54GC won't let me into the control panel. I've looked up the solutions for hours, and i can't get it to work. I'm using a MBP and a HP Pavillion dv6000, and it's the same with both of them. If i...

If you connect the router (WRT54GC) to your broadband modem does it then allow wireless action? Your router has an Internet address. It is 192.168.1.1, in all probability. Check your manual to be sure. Access to the control panel is through this address. You must log in to the router then set up the Wireless, the SSID (the name you give your network) and any security you set up. I prefer the WEP-PSK[TKIP] as it's easiest. Other things with the router, settings and such, pretty much are set automatically, so once security is set you should be good to go. Good luck !!!

My Linksys wrt54gc quit working. I get amber

For that you need to reset your router to factory defaults.
Then reconfigure fix this problem.
First RESET your router to defaults.
for that press RESET button for 10 seconds RESET button is in back side of router.
Then connect your router to computer with ethernet cable.
Then you can access it with following link.
http://192.168.1.1
or
http://192.168.0.1
type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or blank or "password"
Then you can see configuration page of router.
Set WAN settings as your internet service provider settings.
Enable DHCP .
Click on wireless and enable wi fi.
If you want secure router then enable WEP security then add new code it is your password key for connect wi fi.
Also change channel type in wireless option 4,6 and 11 channel are best.
Try 1 by 1 then save settings and restart router.

Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thanks.

My Linksys WRT54GC suddenly stopped working. The router has no power light but the wireless and internet light are green.

Sounds like a PSU failure possibly.

If you can still get wired internet then its not dead. Its even possible the power LED is pooched if you can still use the wired connections.

Helo top experts

i assume that your computer can access the internet while hardwired to the wireless-g router. if so, you just need to connect your wireless computer to the wireless signal of the wireless-g router. you just need to scan or view the available networks detected by your wireless computer and select the wireless name (ssid) of your wireless-g router. make sure to enter the correct wireless security (network key) if it's enabled on your router. i hope this'll help you but if you can't still access the internet wirelessly, provide the specific model number of your wireless-g router, specify if you're using a laptop or a wireless desktop, and the brand and model of your wireless card/adapter

Wireless internet connection

I may be able to help with this...but I need a detailed description of how you have things connected between the XP desktop, the cable, modem, the Linksys router, and the laptop. Also, is the Linksys router new?

Typically, the wan port on the wireless router connects directly to the cable modem with a cat5 network cable....then the desktop pc connects to the router...on port 1 for example...with a similar cable. Once the wireless router is set up properly, the laptop should then be able to connect using wireless.
