How to remove strainer/grater from vitamin bar juicer

It's in the center top portion of the juicer itself I see no way to remove this item so if anyone can help please email instructions the item described looks like a bowl with a strainer on top and a grater on bottom both pieces are surrounded with hard plastic similar to a soup bowl

I am assuming your juicer is the same as mine. The JC-6 White with "Vitamin Bar" and a carrot on the front.
There is most likely a tool that you insert in the back slot, but since I don't know of one, I had to get creative.
First unplug the juicer and undo the side locks, remove the clear cap. Look in the back, there is a 2-inch wide slot where you can see the motor and locking mechanism.
Take a butter knife and hold the mechanism in place. Use your other hand or have a partner spin the mesh/bladed bowl counter-clockwise.
With just some effort and a small "pop" noise, the piece should be free.
I searched forever for a solution, I hope someone with a similar plight finds this helpful.

I have the same juicer, the JC-6 by Salton. I can see the metal post between the spinning basket and the motor, but I don't see any type of locking mechanism to restrain the post from turning. How does a butter knife or similar tool help?

I dont understand!! I have tried this so many times and I am really frustrated!! How the heck do I get it to open? I dont see anything to put the butter knife next to in the 2 inch slot... I tried pressing it in the 2 inch slot, against the side, the back, whatever, nothing is working. I feel like throwing it out

I got it off!!! Thanks for posting the question and the answer. I think the reason why you have to use the butter knife is because the knife has to wedge itself under that spinning thing is because you have to lift up that thing. I didn't have to turn it very hard at all once I lifted that thingee :) Now I have to figure out how to stick it back on :)

Get ahold of it down at the bottom and pull it straight up. Its not hooked on its just a tight fit. I ruined mine trying to use a butter knife and looking for somewhere to wedge it. Just get a good grip with both hands and pull up. Have someone else hold the base down.

Just popped it open...make sure to wedge the knife pretty hard against the SIDE of the locking mechanism, with a fair amount of force...to prevent it from spilling. Then spin the mesh blade with the same force as opening a jar for the first time. Pop! It comes off with relative ease...pretty lame design, but that's what you gotta do. Helps if you think to yourself, "OPEN SAYS ME! OPEN SAYS ME!"

I don't understand how to get it unlocked either. Tried to look for a # for the company apparently they are now in canada and do not list their #. I've tried the suggestions on how to move the strainer, nothing is working.

You have to lift off the juice collector (the black part around the grater)-you have to use a little force-then you'll be able to take out the grater.

How do you disassemble the jack lalane juicer?

You use your Orange cresent tool with the 2 metal thingies on the bottom of it. Take off the top of the juicer. Then get the tool and then stick the tool where you see the two holes. Hold down the spinning like grater, and use the tool to turn counter clock wise. Once you do that the Middle part will come off.
