Ideapad Z560 neither accessing BIOS setup or is starting normally

Your bios seems corrupted. You will probably need to reflash from a thumb drive which is bootable. The F2 should get you to booting screen to access the thumb drive to boot from to flash the bios.

System won't boot up window XP

HI Joe. It's likely you have a virus. Or could be just a corrupted section of the hard drive. The F8 is what gets you to the black screen with the differnt boot options. F2 or Del button gets you in the the BIOS or start up instrutions for the PC. F 12 will get you boot device options. The F12 or F2 needs to be pressed before it ever gets to try starting windows. So when you first power on, immediately start tapping the F12 about once a second. This should bring up a menu of which items/ device, to start from. [If you get a stuck key message just clear it and continue tapping F12 or start over] I would suggest you use the windos CD and choose the CD device to boot from, then it will recognize the CD drive. You could follow the CD start up options to peform a repair of windows. If you do a repair, then you should also perform a virus scan immediately after. If after all that, you still have issues, then it's likely the hard drive itself is bad or going bad and you should look at replaceing it. Good luck.

How do I turn off safe mode on an Advent Roma 3001

You can boot in safe mode and open "MSCONFIG" via the RUN option on the start menu. If it not on the start menu look all programs> accessories> run. in the RUN Box Type msconfig and enter. That will open System Configuration, you will see options under General, you want the TOP one NORMAL startup, next click on BOOT tab and look for the Safe boot option,MAKE SURE IT IS NOT CHECKED. llet me know what happens or you need further assistance. max

I need to know what the keys f1-f12 keys usage.

The uses for the function (f1-f12) keys varies based on which program you have open at the time. Different programs use them for different things.

However, your computer also has some default uses for these keys when combined with pressing the fn (function) key.

fn + f1 locks computer

fn + f2 changes our power use profile

fn + f3 puts the computer to sleep

fn + f4 puts the computer into hibernation mode

fn + f5 changes the display/output mode

fn + f6 decreases the screen brightness

fn + f7 increases the screen brightness

fn + f8 enables/disables wireless connections

fn + f9 enables/disables the touch pad

fn + f10 turns the cursor overlay on/off

fn + f11 turns the numeric overlay on/off

fn + f12 turns scroll lock on/off

When i turn on my computer a black screen pops up saying enter current password._ Unable to use f2 or f12 What am I supposeed to do

Hi

You could try to start up in safe mode ( quite often f8 ) sign in as administrator and cancel the password

Also if you get into safe mode try a system restore back to when it was ok

Or hit delete key a few times when starting up hopefully this will take you into the bios because the f12 or f2 key may be disabled

Be very careful what you change in your bios because on a laptop its not very easy to change jumpers on bios battery so only enable the f2 or f12 then hit save and exit windows will then restart

But be very very carefull not to play around in the bios if you dont understand it you may end up with BIG BIG Problems
