Those peakers have digital sound that your system can't provide without th addition of a sound card. The Creative Sound Blaster Surround 5.1 pro is a sound card that hooks into a USB port and will hande the digital sound.

You may have to enable the additional speakers by entering the Creative software, which should have come with your sound card. On my system I left click on the Creative volume panel and the choose console launcher. After entering the Console Launcher you can change the speaker setup.

sir I am using 2.1 creative inspire speakers system, at present no sound is coming in the speakers or woofer, what is the problem.
power is on and after connecting the speakers to woofer from pc no sound is coming. what is the problem. please help me. thanks rajanna

is it usb or what? please check first your cables if properly installed. specially power cord of your creative. check it.

Sound Blaster is certainly a good name when it comes to sound cards, they've been around forever. If you're looking for quality audio and full use of your 5.1 speakers, SB live 5.1 will do the trick.

Reinstal your audio drivers

Assuming that the sound is working in the computer and the SBS340 speakers are multi-media (with their own amplifier and power supply), plug the MINI stereo plug into the "green" jack (3 jacks in a row) on back of computer. Turn on the speaker switch and turn up volume about 1/3rd on the speaker. Then look for the electronic volume control (lower right corner next to the clock---will be a tiny speaker icon) , click on it and slide it up approx 1/8th to 1/4 the range. You will have to have some email or program that can supply some audio to see if it works. I have a MIDI file with gobs of numbers that I can call on.. If there is something wrong with the system, that's another story.

First things first:

* this is a creative labs speakers models sub problem**
if you have warranty I suggest you use, Creative is alert on this kind of pop up sounds and others, concerning the subwofers.
time to RMS, or fix on house or other person who can change some resistors on the SUB.
other than this, ...just change for CREATIVE 7800 speakers, are good, and they correct this issue on this ones, I got it and I have 3 years with them and no problems.
